Autumn Fire
Ale brewed with chestnut and spices
To catch a bit of soft radiance in each special bottle, we wait for fall colors to begin their bright and fleeting glow before brewing this wonderful ale under their autumn fire. Gentle amber malts lead smooth caramel notes, gently lapping against a shore of distant forgotten spice. A beer to contemplate and enjoy!

Bottle provided by His_Greatness. Damn and Hot Damn, one of the JPs that I have been waiting to try for some time now. The beer is a moderately hazed deep amber concoction which upon pouring froms a solid and fairly dense light tan head that just wont go away. Dense, foamy lacing is left behind. Soft funk aroma, nothing too assertive that just whacks you in the face but a subtle barny presence that introduces itself and slides away into the crowd. Perhaps a touch of the chestnuts, hard to say never having had a chestnut beer before. Medium bodied, a bit sprightly on the palate and moderately drying. Flavors are crisp, some modest spice presence, touches of lemon and orange zest. Overall, a wonderful creation, I hope this becomes a staple in Rons portfolio!!

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thin white head that quickly goes to a thin film and collar that leaves some lacing.

The aroma is doughy malts with tart, slightly sour, fruits and some spices.

The flavor is earthy yeast with some bready malts. It has some tart and slightly sour fruits, wood and some spices and a dry lightly bitter finish. It has a bit of a washed out and watery flavor. The mouthfeel is medium with lots of sharp carbonation.

Overall, its a pretty typical JP brew, although not one of their better ones. Id prefer more sourness and less watery flavors.

Light brown with a few particulates, small head. Bold aroma, spicy and sour, pumpkin. Taste is sour and bitter up front. Light spiciness. Mild yeastiness. Finish is exceptionally clean. Body was a little too watery for me.

Aroma is light sour, funk, skins. Appearance is amber golden, off white head. Taste is lightly sour, malt, bitter from hops (possibly) not much else. Mouthfeel is medium body and crisp carbonation. Overall, not real impressive for my first Jolly Pumpkin.

This beer is all over the place. Copper color with a small bubble white head. Aroma is tart, bret funk, woody oak, some fruit. Flavor is rich and complex...huge profile. Well balanced and very interesting.

2006 bottle shared by Blake. Pours to a clear brown amber with ample carbonation supporting a huge meringue-like head. Woody, cinnamon-spicy aroma with tart acid over ginger bread malt. Great flavor on this stuff - tart green apple, tangy nutty wood, and lemon citrus over soft pale malt. The mouthfeel is aided by velvety carbonation - not at all tingly or harsh. This beer is well put-together; I dont dig on the nutty flavors too much but its still tasty.

Bottle from CBX. Deep hazy amber pour with a large frothy white head with thick sheets of lacing. Funky, musty, oak yeasty aroma, tangy citrus along with hints of spices, flowers and a very light sweetness. Citrus, oak, yeast funkiness and lactic acid. Relatively smooth body and lower carbonation for JP beers. Very tasty.
