Awesome ’alternative’ ale. You haven’t had an IPA with a hop profile like this. Crisp, slightly sour, complex, funky hop character. This brew terrifies the Newbie and seasoned beer kinda-sewer alike. Sophisticated ale that I savor on every trip to AA. cancerhawk (22) - - AUG 1, 2013
Sweet fruity start, heavy sugary finish middle, dry finish and nutty. Finish a little too dry and comes on too quickly. crossovert (13080) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 21, 2011
Had this at the brewpub in Ann Arbor.
The lights were dark but it appeared a clear light peach color with minimal head.
Smell was greatly hoppy and fresh.
It was very hoppy, but balanced in taste. THe hops were really spicy, but with a hit of grapefruit peel. There was a slight sourness underneath. It was crisp and clean.
This is a great beer, not sure how limited it will be but I recommend getting it while it is there.

Non Beer Trip Beer Trip Beer #93. Keg at Jolly Pumpkin Ann Arbor, 3/12/16. Hazy golden, large fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of citrus, tropical hops, pale crackery malt, agave. The taste is citrus, tropical hops, agave, pale malt, bubblegum. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild lingering bitterness.
This beer’s 50th rating! And this has to be my highest rating of any beer’s that’s been within 12 light years of sorghum.

On tap at the brewpub. Aromas of nettles spice hops Grapefruit sour. Pours real clear, light yellow. Not much head. Complex, sour flavours - some hops and agave is apparent. Finishes agave crazy! Innovative unique beer. ogglethorp (917) - Ohio, USA - OCT 23, 2009

Hoppy and floral nose with a touch of cotton candy. The taste is tart lemons, some honey and dry grainy malts. Really nice beer and one that I want to try again in a non-fest situation. Definitely the best gluten free beer I’ve ever had... easily. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 25, 2015
5oz on tap at Jolly Pumpkin in Ann Arbor. Clear golden color. Thin white head, leaving good ridge of lace. Moderate bitter taste, hint of tart, light sweet, more dry. Interesting, complex flavor. Citrusy hop, bit of belgian yeast, get some of the agave. Mild spiciness. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter to moderate carbonation. Mild effervescence. Solid, interesting unique belgian IPA. BigBeer45 (1540) - Michigan, USA - JAN 9, 2010
On tap at the AA Café, served in a large tulip, similar to the Duvel glass,
the Manatee looked to be a light hazy bronze-gold with a foamy, bubbly off-while head, and had decent effervescence,
there were aromas of citrus hops, orange, peach, light herbs and floral scents,
flavors of citrus hops and floral-herb hints, I thought I tasted a light Pale malt but this beer has no malt,
big hop bite at the finish with little tingles and dryness on the tongue,
mouth feel was light on the palate,
interesting beer, I did not realize that this was a gluten free beer until after I ordered and was looking over the details of this beer,
this is my only Gluten Free beer so far and given how much I enjoyed this beer I may be more open to trying this type of beer, for anyone who has to follow a gluten free diet you are in luck, this beer will really treat your palate to a delightful experience, even if you are not on a gluten free diet, I recommend trying this beer.
