3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 22, 2014 Tap: Hazy orange color, expected for a pumpkin beer with a beige head that slowly settles to a timid collar. Aroma is tangy pumpkin spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, light cocoa dust, & a mild inclusion of oak & critters that plant a decent amount of funk with some gentle tartness in the back-end. Taste follows along just like a pumpkin beer with typical pumpkin spices; nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger... only there’s a nice backbone of oak barrel, cotton & hay funk, & a nice tartness that finishes things off. Very signature JP in the funk character with slight vegetal flavors here & there. Nice take on the pumpkin beer style.
A bit overrated! Boring gold pour w/ out much of a head or lacing. Aroma has some nice fall spices. Taste is an odd combo of spiciness, bitterness, & sourness. Points for uniqueness but it doesn't all come together for me. Just decent! anstei (2510) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - OCT 6, 2017
Bottle from Erzbierschof, bottled 8-17-2011. Pours cloudy darkish amber. Aroma is wild funk, pumpkin indeed, Belgian candy, phenols, citric. Body is medium, fruity, acidic and really pleasant. Soft carbonation, funk, citric, fruity, phenols. Dry palate. Amazing balance, held up really well. Great beer! Jpmercer (75) - shakopee, Minnesota, USA - SEP 5, 2017
Ok, so the joke was that Jolly Pumpkin doesn’t brew a pumpkin beer. Well, now we do. Just this one. Packed with real pumpkins, hints of spice, and a gentle kiss of cocoa to liven the soul. An everyday easy way to fill your squashy quotient. Guess now folks will have to find something else to joke about...

(Jolly Pumpkin La Parcela No. 1 Pumpkin Ale) Bottle 750ml at home, served into a shaker, ABV 5.9%
Deep orange colour on the body, clear, with a small and thin white head on top.
Aroma of peaches, gra[es, white wine, wood, only a hint of spices.
Taste is nicely sour, with grapes, vinous notes, peaches, spices in between and on the finish, tanines, a touch of toffee.
Medium thin body, quite dry on the palate.
Great beer, little has to do with all the other pumpkin ales out there. SlackerMads (3467) - DENMARK - JUN 4, 2017
Bottle. Hazy golden with a small off white head with good retention, lace and regeneration. Strong funky nose with wet dark wood, faint spices, dust and light lemony sourness. The flavour is mild with restrained spices, light pumpkin, wood, tobacco, dust, barnyard, leather, hay and berries. Good balance with little if any sweetness, light bitterness and light to medium sourness. Soft finish with lingering wood and berries. Good balance and not overdone in any way.

Bottle at Cotteridge wines tasting room; murky amber pour with a thin tan head, aroma has spicy pumpkin action, taste has light fruits, spicy pumpkin. rdixon77 (2944) - Georgia, USA - NOV 25, 2016
Great pumpkin beer. The less spice the better. The mild sour goes well with a hint of the pumpkin and chocolate presence. Semisweet. Good stuff.
