750ml bottle, batch #12 from 2008. pours a hazy, bronze with hints of gold and a thick, sticky, khaki head and a thick sheet of lace. aroma is wonderful with big, tart, red fruit notes of berry and cherry with notes of red wine vinegar, sour grapes, tart apricot, and a definite funky presence balanced by sweeter touches of caramel, cinnamon, and wood. flavor was a bit of a let-down after the aroma but was still very nice with milder tart berry notes, dry red wine, and plum with a touch of vanilla, caramel malts, and bready yeast on the finish. the flavor was just not as sour as expected - was this one too balanced?! palate was medium bodied with big carbonation and a lingering, dry, mildly tart finish. overall, a very solid sour ale.

Draft at Mon Petit Cafe, Stuttgart. That's some proper flanders, very drinkable, strong red fruits and wood notes, little vinegar.

750 ml bottle poured into a tulip. Blend 13, bottled 6/29/2012. Consumed on 8/20/2017. Clear dark amber with beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, oak, light vinegar. Tastes of tart dark fruit, oak, light tart acidic notes, light vinegar. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Aged very well with just over 5 years on it.
