A steady pour produces a three-finger thick, fluffy, off-white colored head. The beer is a honey / amber color that shows a hazy, orange-straw tinged, golden hue when held up to the light. The aroma is a mix of tart and herbal hoppy notes, followed by spicy citrus zest, spicy & woody oak, as well as some tropical fruit and gooseberry notes, and some dank herbal character. As the beer warms up a bit some toasted, whole grain cracker notes are accentuated by nutty oak aromatics. The beer is nicely tart, though not aggressively sour, and has a herbal hop bitterness and astringency to it. Citrus zest (kumquat, grapefruit, not quite ripe tangelo) mixes with herbal notes, a touch of menthol, some floral tropical fruit notes, and a woody, slightly spicy, dry oak character. The body is fairly light, but doesn’t come off as thin, and there is a nicely prickly carbonation for texture; the oak & hop character provides some tannic structure to the body as well. The combination of oak and hop character really provides quite a bit of bite to the flavor profile. Phenolic, earthy, funky, musty, sort of barnyard, sort of plastic like Brettanomyces flavors add to the complexity of the beer.
This is a solid, enjoyable beer from Jolly Pumpkin. I could perhaps wish for a bit more tartness & funkiness, or a bit more tropical fruit hop character, but that is not going to keep me from enjoying this beer.
Bottle, light gushing. Hazy copper with a medium sized off white head with ok regeneration. Pleasant nose with sour berries, dust, oak and dry grass. Light, crisp and fresh texture with pepper, wood, dry grass, barnyard, flowers, barnyard. Light to medium body, little sweetness, balanced bitterness, light to medium sour. On tap at Underground. Pours a softly hazed amber with a medium sized white head. Wood and classic JP funkiness on the nose, softly acidic, gentle fruit. Medium bodied, lightly tart, bright acid, gentle fruit. Slow and tangy into the finish, soft and musky. Lovely stuff, subtle and slow, easy drinking with some lovely complexity lurking here.

Pour muddy, pale brown with a dense head. Sourish aroma with notes of grape fruit, lime and dill. Sourish flavour with noes of grape fruit, blood orange and funky brett.
Vibrant orangey amber, thick head. Big Brett nose, with a nice biscuity malt and maybe tree fruit underpinning. Has a bit yeasty taste, nice hint of brett, pretty good complexity.

On tap at VCBW Festival 2017, pours a cloudy bright golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma brings out lots of dry oak, light saison yeast and just a hint of dry hopping. Flavour is rather abrasive, with tons of oak, bitter dry hopping and funky saison yeast. Thick lacing and medium lacing. Cloudy orange appearance. Dank fermented aroma. Light carbonation that finishes easily. Mildly sour, very solid saison.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2017 Draft at Bru Craft. Cloudy peach pour with thick white froth. Nice lace. Dry tropical citrus florals. Apricot. Papaya. Mango. Oak. Pineapple. Dandelion. Straw. Some barnyard. Juicy but with a lingering dry bitter finish.
