I really like sour stouts and this is one of the nicer ones I’ve had. Pours black, thick tan head. Aroma is sweet, slick, slightly thin mouthfeel. Sour chocolate.

Bottle. Black colour. Sour chocolate aroma. Starts like a slighlty sour stout but the sourness dominates as you keep drinking

As per a bunch of tasting notes below I ask the question ’is this a sour’? I hope so as it’s done very well. Razor sharp precision right through the palate. One sniff and you know you’re in for Flemish sour goodness. tasted blind I would have sworn this was high charged Rodenbach.

Black with a tan head. Oily and dark. Smells delicious like sour plum. Tastes like chocolate, oak and wine. Very awesome.

Bottle from Whole Foods. Very black with a big foamy brown head. No lacing. Aroma of sour dark fruits, cocoa, roast, and oak. Tastes sour and fruity, roasty, woody and full of dark chocolate bitterness. Medium bodied finishing long and bitter. Very nice.

2011 bomber on 4/9/16. Pours pitch black, absorbing all light. Thin tan head that makes a ring. Nose is sour, wood. Taste is sour and wood. A bit thin. Not much as far as stout notes. Cherry. Yummy. Easy drinking. Subtle dryness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ölföreningen 2015. Flaska, vintage 2012. Smak och doft av kaffe, sjögräs, rosad malt, röda vinbär och soja. Syrlig, relativt torr, stram, lagom sötma. Speciell!

Draft at Mikkeller Bar in San Francisco. Deep black pour with a thin, laced tan head. Sour aroma. Some malty notes. But you would think it’s a sour. Its not. Mix of a sour, Belgian, and stout in the taste. Very, very complicated. But also very good. Pretty amazing beer.
