750ml bottle gushed as I cracked the cap. Very dark brown with a dense and rocky head. Aroma is sour, winey-oaky, yeasty spicy and dark fermented fruits. Light amber with small white head. Nice citrus aroma. Sour citrus taste mixed with moderate fruity sweetness and followed by mild bitterness.

Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters displaying a hazed amber color, with a presentable layer of off white/light tan foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was subtle funk, tartness, slight oak, spice, fruitiness as cherry, berries, and plum, with a touch of vinous nature. Pours a very dark amber with a thinner, creamy looking, beige head that remains for a very long time. The aroma is heavily tart, with spices, cherry, yeast, apple, and minor notes of caramel and cinnamon. The taste is a balance between sour and malt. Cherry and apple tartness along with cinnamon stand out most. Underneath I find fig, spice, yeast, and some chocolate. Its pretty dry and has sour cherry aftertaste. Medium in body here, with a slick texture, and some fizzy carbonation. This is one of the better Christmas beers that I’ve found.
