3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
S: Boozy. Spicy. some clove in there.
A: The beer looks great being a semi dark brown color. The carbonation is playful however is also a downfall of the beer. This is way over carbonated and a gentle pour yields an explosive head.
T: Alcohol comes through a lot as does a sourness. The sour works well with other aspects such as the spiciness. A good sweetness. I like the blend between spices and other aspects.
P: Medium body, average texture perhaps a little aggressive due to the carbonation. Good in short sips, bad is you let it linger.
O: A solid beer. A good balance of spice and sour. Worth grabbing.
Stumbled across this beer that I didn't know I had a sticker on the back says bottled on Halloween 2012. Aroma is tart, dark ripe fruits a little malt. Average appearance.. flavor is a like aroma a little more interesting and complex hints of cocoa and Oak. Body is a touch thin. Very good finish and fairly easy drinking for a sour beer. Light amber with small white head. Nice citrus aroma. Sour citrus taste mixed with moderate fruity sweetness and followed by mild bitterness. tmoreau (4631) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - FEB 21, 2017
Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters displaying a hazed amber color, with a presentable layer of off white/light tan foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was subtle funk, tartness, slight oak, spice, fruitiness as cherry, berries, and plum, with a touch of vinous nature. The taste was similar notes, medium bodied, continuing tartness, warmth, and some earthy & rind-like bitterness. Nice sip & savor brew.
