Golden color with some yeast floaties and a fluffy white head. White wine and grape aroma along with yeast notes. Dang, lots of alcohol in the taste. There is also some white wine taste with hints of grapes and yeast. The huge alcohol taste suprised me because there was no hint of it in the tast. A bubbly feel in the mouth. Can’t say i liked this one very much. rudolf (2360) - Buffalo, New York, USA - DEC 12, 2004

2004-12-XX. Golden body with a moderate fluffy white head. Aroma is triple like and alcoholic. Flavour is sweetly alcoholic with of a bit of pepper nots and bitter undertones. Average Palate. Cool bottles. 6/4/6/3/14 - 3.3 Toronto Christmas Party 2004.
Pours a lightly hazy copper bronze with a dense pillowy white head that leaves thick clumps of foam on the sides of the glass as it subsides. Aroma is a farmhouse blend of semi-sweet caramel malt and candi sugar, dandelions and bready Belgian malt. Starts with a pleasant brown sugary caramel sweetness with a hint of light fruit and complex yeasty spice. Finishes full, semi-dry, warming and mildly fruity. Very well balanced and authentic tasting. Almost more like a saison than a Bière de Garde but quite enjoyable nonetheless. Thanks to both wohlfs and Silphium for this gem!

Cloudy light brown with white head. Aroma is of pineapple. Taste has notes of alcohol, more pineapple and I got a hint of banana. Medium/light body with very subtle carbonation. MilkmanDan (1942) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - DEC 6, 2004
Brilliant translucent gold. Smells of sugar, bananas, and pineapple. Tastes of sugar, bananas, and pineapple, with a bit of yeast and apricot. Alcohol is surprisingly noticeable considering the reasonably low ABV. Oh, and if this is a Biere de Garde I’m the queen of freaking France. BuckNaked (1230) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - DEC 5, 2004

Poured a hazy dark, golden color with a medium sized, off white head. Aroma of banana, vanilla oak, and spicy mint. Taste was nutty, light citrus, more vanilla oak from the barrel. Finished dry and yeasty, certainly a different BDG. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 5, 2004
