Artisan Golden Ale. Ale aged in oak barrels. Barrel aged & bottle conditioned. Aged in large oak casks and refermented in the bottle. Oro de Calabaza is brewed in the Franco-Belgian tradition of special golden ales. Spicy and peppery with a gentle hop bouquet and the beguiling influence of wild yeast. Please enjoy our beers in good health, Cheers and Mahalo plenty!

Heavyweight 375 ml bottle served in a Belgian snifter.

This "Gold of Pumpkin" ale has an obvious wild yeast component which I find interesting and acceptable in the flavor, but overbearing and unappealing in the aroma. Moderate oak barrel influence. Mildly bitter and tart. Excellent, lively mouthfeel.

On tap at St. Augustines on Rare Beer Tap Takeover. Fruity, spicy, hoppy, refreshing. Very good.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a burnt crisp yellow color with a thin white cap of a white head. Mild thin lacing.
The smell starts off with some bright sweet citrus, peppercorn, dry floral qualities, white pepper, light wood.
The flavor is sharply sweet with pronounced dry floral qualities hitting nicely. Spice kicks on in on the aftertaste. Quick semi-sweet dry finish. Appropriate bitterness hits my tongue.
Overall, another fantastic offering by Jolly Pumpkin.

PanMarek (464) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2016
Mild hop aroma with a touch of yeast and tartness. Some malt in the background but very subdued. Dark golden pour with thin foam. The taste is mild, considering it is classified as a a Belgian strong ale. Peppery touches, with some citrusy hops in the middle and a faint malty finish. Very little alcohol on the tongue. The oak helps control the sweetness and provides a dry finish. Lively and dry mouthfeel. Overall, a well-balanced but surprisingly shy Belgian.

Slight hazy, orange
Aroma of sour, peach. Sweet fruit and yeast.
Taste sweet peach, bitter citrus.

I’ve rewritten this as I go, just not sure about this thing. Sour, yeast, wood, and farmhouse funk - this beer has it all. Pours looking like a tripel, with sour notes on the nose. Flavor is vinegar-ish at first, but quickly fades to a tart enjoyable fruitish thing. Finish is fairly dry with lingering sour notes. Interesting for sure, but not my thing.

Nice beer. Sour taste, with good balance. Fresh aromas of pine and fruit. Nice sparkling palate.

Butelka. Aromat bardzo owocowy podszyty dzikością i beczką. Smak dosyć wytrawny, lekko gorzki i słodki. W smaku sporo owoców, szczególne cytrusy, skórki owocowe, funk. Bardzo blisko klimatu saison. Super.

Barwa złota, piwo mętne. Aromat całkowicie zdziczały (spocony koń, łajno w stajni) z nutami cytrusowymi i octowymi. W smaku wyraźnie, niemal octowo kwaśne, stajnia ponownie wyczuwalna, lekkie nuty biszkoptowe, karmelowe w tle.

Ysok02 (1870) - Mons, BELGIUM - MAY 14, 2016
