Ungstrup (38242) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAY 1, 2007
Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity combined with lighter notes of brettanomyces and some acidity. The flavor is sweet and at the same time rather acidic from brettanomyces, combined with strong notes of fruit - especially peaches, leading to a dry bitter end.

Bottle at DC Epic Sour Tasting 2010, courtesy of ryan, much appreciated. Hazy copper/brown color, scant head and lacing. Aroma of apple cider, vinegar, oak. Taste is similar with a bit of salt. Nice enough.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of sk8viking. Hazy, orangey brown with a beige head. Acidity in the nose, vinegar plus oak and overripe fruit. Medium body with some caramel, oak and vanilla - both sweetness and acidity. The finish is dry and tart. Delicious indeed. 290407

Draft sample at MBGF. Hazy amber with a minimal fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate tart citrus earthy woody aroma. Medium body. Medium sour flavor with a light bitter finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with another good JP brew.

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 3, 2007
(12oz bottle) Lightly hazed dark amber body topped by small beige head that rapidly diminishes to a ring. Aroma is moderately sweet, cherry sourness, oak, light caramel. Taste is medium sweet, grape/vinous, cherry, oak. Fairly sour. Medium body, some acidity, quite drinkable even if a bit thin. This is yummy, and I recognize that my spare description doesn’t do it justice -- thanks to artusory for hauling it back for me.

(750ml bottle) Pours a murky orangish brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of oak, mustiness, pear, and citrus. Flavor of acidic cherry/brett with apple, oak barrel, and light pepper.

Bottle that was a Summer Secret Santa gift back in 2009 I think. Pours a fairly clear brown with a medium sized head. Nice big sour Jolly Pumpkin aromas hit even as the bottle is opened. Mouthwatering sourness, wood, dark pitted fruits, some soft cherry aromas and some big long acid. Smells awesome, lots of Bam on the nose. Interestingly it doesn’t really follow the nose. Where I was expecting some rather fierce acid up front, instead there’s a nice sweetness. Smooth with some caramel tones and a very faint acidity. Nice barnyard notes and very light cola. Some warming alcohol on the finish which lingers for a while, as well as a bit of tannic bitterness.

hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 22, 2006
750ml bottle acquired in trade with Styles (thanks!). Poured a deep and cloudy orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of brett, funky, leather, green apples, and cherries. Tastes of fruits, caramel, oak, and some citrus. Nice tart and lightly sour finish. Lacing left on the glass. Yet another winner from JP!

madsberg (11775) - Søborg, DENMARK - APR 29, 2007
Bottled. Amber coloured. Unclear. Dense light brown head. Sweetness, light fruits and some berries in the aroma. Subdued and very light vinegar notes. Flavour as well has this subdued vinegar sourness. Light woodnotes and frutis. Is a bit bland just after the Biere de Mars. Medium bodied. Has a light sour and grapish end.

Bottle... This beer rocks!... Hazy burnt orange ale with a large, fluffy, cream-colored head. The aroma is an eddy of caramel, cabernet, funk, lemonade and bourbon. The flavor is vinous, acidic and lightly bitter with additional notes of caramel, lemon, bourbon and mild alcohol warmth. Medium to full-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel and subtle carbonation. Tart, lightly bitter, sourmash finish. World class beer from a world class brewery!
