(12oz bottle, batch 5, courtesy of BMan1113VR) Pours a lightly hazy orange body with a small white head. Aroma of pineapple, vinegar, mango, lemon, barnyard, earth, and horse blanket. Flavor of caramel, white wine, citrus, wood, grass, and funky. Excellent! JackT (71) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - FEB 13, 2010
Hazy apple cider like pour with an off white head. The aroma is oak, sweet fruits, and wild yeast. Flavors are faint acetic acid, tart cherry, barnyard funky sourness. The body is medium light with mild carbonation. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - FEB 13, 2010
Nose has a pretty big oily, coconut bourbon note to it. Lots of red fruits, especially currants, under the bourbon. Flavor is moderately tart, pretty light with strawberry and cherry, some bourbon. Body is very light, moderate carbonation. Pretty nice, but not up to batch 4 or 1. Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - FEB 12, 2010
12oz. bottle, courtesy Northernbrews. Thanks Jeff! The pour yields a hazy, dark amber colored body with a small, frothy, bubbly head that is ivory in hue. Scattered micro-spot lacing shows all over the glass. The aroma very bretty, showing loads of funked oak. Musty apple tartness provides ample fruit flavor, and is accompanied by hints of black cherry. Softly acetic vinegar and peppery, oily, cedar-like wood prove nice compliments, rounding out the complex, sharp nose. Flavors perpetuate the enjoyment, again showing very woody and peppery, with sour, acetic apple vinegar notes, dusty, earthy brett, and dried, tart cherries. The old oak is the key here, effectively softening the abrasiveness of the acetic acids. Dry and refreshing, the palate is crisp and lightly carbonated, finishing with lingering wood. Excellent beer. Easily the best (bottled) Perseguidor to date. Brigadier (3680) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - FEB 9, 2010

Thanks to Cliff for sharing this on a cold winter afternoon. I think it might still be a little young. The sourness has not quite had time to develop a well rounded funk. Overall though it has a nice sour balance that you would expect from a brewery of Jolly Pumpkin’s caliber. I wish these were more widely available; I would certainly buy them from time to time.
Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy orange body was the color of mandarins. Sour cherries and oranges gave this the aroma of a packet of Sour Patch kids. Tart and dry it shocked the senses into tasting mode.
Flavor / Palate - Sour citrus is the dominant player. It’s not green but I think in time the other flavors will have time to mix more deeply. It will also mellow out the harshness that is that the edge of this. Ultimately the total package is another great sour; this makes me wish I could get my hands on a bottle of Lambicus.
Bottle. Pours a copper color with a smallish off white head. Aroma is oaky, tart, pepper, sweet fruit. Flavor is oak, lemons, earthy, tart cherry, and a hint of vanilla. I really can pick out the individual beers in this blend. Starts with Luci, then LaRoja and finishes with Bam, quite interesting. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finished tart and somewhat funky. A rather pedestrian perseguidor. Solid, but not off the charts, perhaps with time. ilovedarkbeer (2741) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - FEB 7, 2010
Bottle thanks to BMan1113VR. Pours an orangey amber color with no head. Nose is white pepper, lightly toasted oak, and wild strawberries. Taste is tart vinegar, stale graham crackers, and more white pepper. Tart lively mouthfeel and long haunting finish. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 6, 2010
( 12oz bottle thanks to BMan1113VR) Pours orange with nice lace and yeast floaters. Nose of sour orange, funk, olives, and wine barrel. Taste of light nail polish, white wine notes, wet oak and quite tart. Undercarbonated tart finish that has sour cherries which linger around a while. angrypirate06 (1388) - Texas, USA - FEB 6, 2010
