Bottle: Poured a reddish color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of tart fruit with cherries notes and light funky notes. Taste is also dominated by tart cherry notes with some tart and sour notes with some light funky yeast notes in the finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nice sour with oak, cherry and tart notes mixing well together. jkwood04 (5448) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 13, 2013
750ml bottle (blend 6) in a tulip. Pours deep ruby/amber with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of sourness/tartness, some cherries and other fruits?, pale and caramel malts, light oak and some light funk. Flavor the same with a nice blend of the fruits and sour notes. Average texture. A really good beer. ClassyBeagle (376) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 19, 2013
FROM NOTES: August 9, ’12
Poured on draft at The Trappist into a Trappist glass.
A: Acidic, hints of berries, cherries, citric, a little vinous character, but had vinegar undertones and good funky oaky barnyard notes.
A: Pours a bronze, slightly hazy amber with a fizzy whitish head that dies away to a thin ring of lace within seconds.
T: Tart, yet juicy with a strong passion fruit flavor. Light caramel malt with a bit of toast, a little lemon, and just a hint of oak.
P: Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
O: I do not like sours, but of the myriad that I’ve tried, this was the best. One pint was plenty for a life-time, but again, the best sour I’ve had to date. Serving: draft. Psytron (2285) - Turku, FINLAND - NOV 9, 2013
Smell of fruit, citrus, yeast. Red amber colour, cloudy. Yellow creamy head. Very sour. Aroma of citrus, cherry. Soft but very plentiful carbon.

Thanks to errl for sharing this bottle. Red pour with a white head. The aroma and flavor are delicious. I get a ton of cherry and passion fruit notes as well as some sourness, leather and barnyard funk. There is also a hint of oak. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice sour, much better version than the Maui version of this beer. Errl (2442) - Plano, Texas, USA - OCT 31, 2013

Smells more sour than it tasted. Very refreshing and crisp. Heavy cherry flavors. Idiosynkrasie (7516) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - OCT 16, 2013
750ml bottle. Minimally cloudy amber colour with small to average, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Tangy fruity aroma, hints of fruit vinegar, a touch of cherry, mandarine, mustard seed, cautious hints of wood. Taste is moderately tart, tangy, dry, unspecific fruity, maybe hints of grapes, more vinegar-, less lemon-like tartness. Round and balanced tartness, nice. 750 ml bottle
With some time on it this has turned into an amazing sour. I am glad I grabbed the bottle from Lizardville when I noticed it last winter. The best thing about it is that despite years of success it shows that Jolly Pumpkin is still on their game. Should you find a bottle buy it without hesitation.
Aroma / Appearance - A warm orange base glows with rich light like a glass of orange soda. Bubbly carbonation and flat white head add more depth. Oranges, mango, and light sour notes meld smoothly with the typical Jolly Pumpkin base.
Flavor / Palate - Sour lemons and orange juice stick together from the start to the last sip. A dry finish reminds me of a mimosa - part champagne and part fresh squeezed orange. The only drawback is that at $19.99 per bottle it is a little too expensive for day to day consumption. Still, I hope the other two at the tasting also enjoyed it as much.
