Sour, barrel-aged version of the beer by the same name. Brewed in collaboration with Maui brewing.

Yes, Michigan and Hawaii are connected. It should be obvious to you now, as you hold this beer, and read this label. John and I designed this beer with two noble fruits from two noble states, Michigan & Hawaii. Cherries and liliko’i. Starting to see the connection? I feel it. So does John. 4391 miles may separate our breweries, but no our thirst for the exquisite. Hipa! -Ron

Working with Ron is something I’ve always want to do since I had my first Jolly Pumpkin beer. Years later, it’s a reality. Being involved on this project was an honor and a privilege. Mahalo to my MBC crew and to you, fans of craft beer! -John

1 pint, 9.4 fl. oz bottle from Bieropholie, cold, shared with Blair. Very cloudy red court with a faint white head. Quite tart caramel, woodsy, a bit funky, tight. Medium body, gentle effervescence. Quite a bit of yeast fruit, light funk, lots of wood, bitter herbs, nice; lightly tart with nice sour fruits and a funky finish.

A barrel aged blended sour ale with Maui lilikoi and bing cherries from Michigan. Fruity floral aroma, rich ruby red color with a complex sour fruit taste and tart dry finish. Perfectly balanced with a lingering sourness that leaves u wanting more. Ron had told me this beer gets even better after a year and after tasting a batch of the blend 8-2012 I agree 100%.

75 cl. Blend 2.

Batch 2, Bottled 05-02-2012 from Belmont. Pours an amber brown with a nice white head that dissipates quickly. Big aroma of sweet, meaty fruit and also some sour cherries; really cool smell like passion fruit too. Strong passion fruit flavor with a good tweak of sourness. Very well balanced. Great brew and one of the tops I’ve had in awhile.
