COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sour, barrel-aged version of the beer by the same name. Brewed in collaboration with Maui brewing.

Yes, Michigan and Hawaii are connected. It should be obvious to you now, as you hold this beer, and read this label. John and I designed this beer with two noble fruits from two noble states, Michigan & Hawaii. Cherries and liliko’i. Starting to see the connection? I feel it. So does John. 4391 miles may separate our breweries, but no our thirst for the exquisite. Hipa! -Ron

Working with Ron is something I’ve always want to do since I had my first Jolly Pumpkin beer. Years later, it’s a reality. Being involved on this project was an honor and a privilege. Mahalo to my MBC crew and to you, fans of craft beer! -John

750 ml bottle via local trade- thanks, Kevin! Blend 10. Bottled 5/24/12. Pours a consistently cloudy fruit juice-amber color with a small off-white head that immediately settles into a wisp of film. Aroma of fruity funk, oak, tea, pears, plums, floral notes- smooth and subtle. Flavor of tea, oaky funk, leaves, floral notes, lemon, plum, spice, and apple. Light-medium bodied, with a tart, dry, earthy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Nicely done. Unmistakably Jolly Pumpkin.

Very flanders red-like nose, very nice and complex, translates into the taste, balance towards the oak and acetic part, but not overwhelming.

Aroma: several caramels, tart, lactic smoothness, oak, vanilla, fruit-strawberries, grape, funk. Appearance: orange to red hue, slight off white head, good retention. Taste is similar to aroma, good balance between sweet, tart, funk, lacto. Somewhat medium body slick feel, creamy, soft carbonation, long finish that is well balanced. Quite good, complex and well balanced.

750ml bottle thanks suurjuust. Pours hazy dark orange, white head. Aroma is sour, brett, woody, tannin, winey, bit vinegary. Taste of brett, sourness, berries, wood. Medium bodied, over average carbo. I can drink it as woody sour beer, but nothing special here.
