Taste the summertime with Jopen Adriaan. Besides wheat and oats, this wheat beer also contains herbs. The result is a fresh and fruity beer with a smooth flavour. Jopen Adriaan is named after the De Adriaan windmill. This windmill stood on the banks of the Spaarne for centuries and milled grain for use by Haarlem brewers. In 1932, the mill was destroyed by fire. An initiative to rebuild the windmill was sponsored by Jopen through the sale of this wheat beer. Hugely thirst-quenching and ideally enjoyed on a sunny outdoor terrace.

Bottle from Mam and Dads holiday, Netherlands. Very pale, hazy yellow-white in colour with a floral, herbal, vanilla and lemon flavour followed by a spicy, gently fruity finish. Good.

Draught at De Paas, stable medium creamy head, cloudy lemon color with orange taints, aroma of wheat and bubblegum with a spicey hint, flavor of lemon grapefriut and bubblegum with some almond in the back, light citrusy bitterness, light sourness, prickly carbonation. Very nice and really easy to drink.

The beer looks nice, like a witbier should. The color is a rather light yellow. The beer is pale, but some beers are paler. On top of the beer there is a nice layer of rough white foam that collapses quickly. Almost nothing of the foam remains. The smell is nice but simple and a little mild for the type. I smell some zest and citrus fruits. It is a little watery though, the aromas could have been stronger. The taste is the same. A bit to watery and to mild. Ive expected somethings stein get. The bitter and sour zest aromas are to weak and the sweets are also to weak. I expected more, especially from Jopen.
