COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Barmhartige Samaritaan is a highly hopped American Barley Wine. This Barley Wine combines the best of two worlds: a full warm tast (wich is common in English Barley Wine) mixed with loads of American hops (Simcoe and EXP431). A distinctive, high alcohol brew with a pleasant, slightly bitter aftertaste. Ingredients: Water, Barley malt, wheat malt, hops (Challenger, Simcoe, EXP431) and Yeast.

Bottle. Nose is grapes, pine, carmel, brown sugar. Sweet and sugary with lots of pine and resins. Simple and sweet but not much complexity. A bit disappointing.

Bottle shared at Maakuns, "Dont take that THT away from me"-tasting. Black with greyish head. Sweet toasted malts, caramel, plastics, soapy, spices, resin, quite hoppy, nettle bitter. Medium sweet and light bitter. Full body, soft carbonation. Malty and slick. Weird stuff. Gets better over time.

Bottled, from either BierNavigatie or HetBierMoment. Dark brown colored, small head. Beautiful fruity (grapefruit) and hoppy nose, almost like a DIPA, but with some additional licorice and malts. Flavor is a lot more malty, with the hop bitterness kicking in in the end. This is indeed combining the British and the American Barley Wine. Great experimenting.

Donkerbruin rood van kleur. Kraag blijft lang liggen. Ruikt citrushoppig, moutig. Smaak is fruitig, moutig, wat vaag citrus maar ook kersen en iets van marsepein. Apart.
