UPDATED: JAN 18, 2018 Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is roasted, chocolate, earthy, not too intense. Taste is roasted malts, coffee. Watery mouthfeel, low carbonation. But otherwise a fine Stout.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 10 Nov 2018, from Alko, 20180105) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, ash and dark chocolate. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, ash, coffee, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, sweet and bitter. A too burnt brew with also nice flavours.

On bottle. Pours black, with thick head. The texture is thin. The scent has coffee notes. The taste is dark chocolatey and has a nice note of coffee. It's a bit watery beer, but easy to drink.

Tap @Arendsnest Proeflokaal, Amsterdam. Pours with huge off-white head which disappears quite quickly, very dark brown colour. Aroma: dark chocolate, burnt tyre, oil. Lightly bitter with a bit of dry/coffee aftertaste, light body, thin, flat. Not so much.

Aus der Flasche am 2016-05 getrunken. Süffig und rund, aber nicht besonderes!

Hopverdju (1645) - BELGIUM - NOV 5, 2017
Lichte body. Medium koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: droog, licht geroosterd, wat aards. Eenvoudig en goed in zijn genre.

(Bottle) Pours clear deep brown black with ruby hints and a good tan head. Nice aroma of chocolate, toffee notes and the slightest smoky hints. Medium body with excellent carbonation that is both smoothly mouthfilling and bright. Flavour is a pleasant balance between some gentle dark toffee sweetness and some burnt smoky notes. There's some gentle berry tartness at the start. The (pleasant) bitter burnt notes stay into a fairly long finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle from AH. Very dark red brown stout with thick creamy tan head. Mild smokey and coffee notes, medium carbonation with light mouthfeel. Very drinkable stout

33cl bottle at home (around autumn 2016). This 5.5% ABV, quite good-looking Dutch stout has a brown cassonade, huge towering collar upon a dark black ale with reddish gloom. The nose has a keen smoke and herbs onset, with slight coffee hints, even a bit of fondant chocolate. The flavours already are inviting. The mouthfeel is beautifully coffee flavoured, characterised around dry-ish herbs with some cigar or smoke on the side. This taste begins with a spritzy carbonation and is of course built around the coffee notes and the prevailing hops. The sweets and tasteful malt hints are lovely from the very first sips. The body is rather light, the alcohol really is hidden. The ending has a dry, yet not too bitter finish. This Jopen Extra Stout makes up for an easy-to-drink, modest yet well-balanced coffee-bitter stout.

Creamy beige head stayed on a near black still body. Medium to thin body. Creamy & smooth with a tickle on the back. Dry. Flavours of bitter dark fruits, burnt tastes & malt.
