0.75 l bottle shared at Marko’s place, bottled in December 2011 (#407), courtesy of my Secret Sint 2015, bedankt! Clear, very dark red to black with a frothy, tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a little boozy aroma of caramel, dark ripe fruits, some port, chocolate and some oak. Sweetish-malty taste of caramel, dark chocolate, some coffee, a bit of dark ripe fruits and some oak, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, a little boozy finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, flat. The aroma is really good, but the taste can not really live up to that. Still aged nicely! paulvanpelt (678) - Reusel, NETHERLANDS - OCT 31, 2015
Zoet, licht bitter in de nasmaak. MonsterMagnet (1648) - NETHERLANDS - SEP 26, 2015

Bottle at the chriso Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours rich brown with a fine, tan froth. Moderately sweet, with plenty of dark malt character, some booze, bread, mellow earthy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, more earth, burnt dark malts. Simple imperial stout. Martinus (4741) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - JUN 1, 2014

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig. The pour’s medium brown with a small head. Pretty papery, oxidized nose. Knackered roasted grain. Cocoa. Little else, not particularly expressive or inviting. The taste is similarly underwhelming. Cardboard, chocolate-covered apples. Hot wood. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Overall, I wasn’t keen on this.
