COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jopen Johannieter is a very dark and powerful, heavy beer that is very nutritious. Thanks to the use of roasted wheat malt, this beer has a lot of character without being very sweet. The beer style is a hybrid of a Dubbelbok (double bock) and Export Stout. The beer is unfiltered and subjected to secondary fermentation in the bottle.

Marstonlad (878) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 12, 2017
Bottle at Bierhuis Rotterdam, Helsinki. Pours nearly black with a medium-sized white head. The aroma features wheaty maltiness with raisin and vanilla. Taste is medium to heavily sweet, drying and becoming slightly bitter towards finish. Sweet, wheaty maltiness and yeast are prominent: flavours of plum, raisin and caramel. The palate is medium to full bodied, velvety smooth and low in carbonation. Rich and potent. Definitely a Dutch take on this style; displays quadrupel-like qualities more than those that are characteristic to German weizenbocks.

BeerViking (4710) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2017
Bottle, deep dark brown, near black, with a heavy body and a fast settling tan head. Nose has dried dark fruit and a little treacle, palate is rich and warming with complex flavours of roast malt and fruit. A soft texture is reminiscent of milk stout, with the roastiness and light burnt bitterness evening out the sweet fruit. Delicious.

Bijl (600) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 5, 2016
Smaakvol spul! Body is vol, weinig koolzuur, mondgevoel is romig en zacht, afdronk is roasty en zoetig....iets alcohol en iets droog.

dambor (680) - Berlin, GERMANY - NOV 25, 2016
Pours brown/ruby red with medium head. Aroma: bread, molasses, malt. Taste: nice thick bock with a clear bready profile coupled with molasses and malt sweetness. Tastes like a solid German traditional doppelbock. Good.
