Tap at Jopen. Creamy deep sweet malt tones. Deep sugary nuttiness. Not unlike a Dubbel, but with some added slick molasses, almost vanilla tones. Cool, classic beer. Bijl (811) - NETHERLANDS - APR 14, 2017
Bruin/ donker amberrood, donkergele schuimkraag, troebel en iets koolzuur.
Aroma: Vol moutig, toffee, karamel, snoepzoet, kruidig, rozijnen, anijs.
Smaak: Licht geroosterde zoete mouten, karamel, drop, anijs, cola, kruidig, bloemig, floraal. De kruidigheid blijft ook mooi lang hangen... spicy en iets warmte. Voor een bier zonder hop nog redelijk bitter.
Medium body, zacht en romig mondgevoel, afdronk is kruidig, zoet en plakkerig. Gurthnar (6199) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - APR 14, 2017
Bottle from Drinkshop. Surprisingly balanced and easy drinking. Alcohol hidden well. Considerable caramelly malty base, along with the associated sweetness. Well balanced by the herbs, anise stands out for me, but overall balance is quite nice. Tmoney99 (14982) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 11, 2017
Tap. Poured hazy reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate herbs and sweet fruit aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet & herbal flavor with medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex beer. graziano85 (474) - Budapest, HUNGARY - APR 9, 2017
Bottle. Hazy brown beer with red shine and small beige head, lasting a while but then disappearing. Aroma is soon malt, toffe, even kind of rosemary note. Taste starts bitter, some herbs, raisins. Oily texture, alcohol well hidden. Nice beer.

OK, Quite often I drink a bottle and have my opinion ready. With this Koyt beer I needed 2 bottles and still searching for my opinion. I generally like the beers from Jopen. I also like this one.
It poirs without a big head. Colour is brown. The taste is... Wow caramel, malt, little hop. Unfortunately als bit alcohol, but marginal. Serve not to cold and takes time to enjoy!

Bottle. Red with a shade of brown. Small short-lived head. Aroma of red fruits, barley and herbs. Taste is red fruits (cherries, plums?), caramell, malts, herbs, spices, alcohol, liquorice, clove and maybe even Port. Aftertaste is sticky sweet, alcoholic and tastes like cough syrup. Strong carbonation, reminds me of Coca Cola. First Gruit I ever had. Interesting brew, feels like a mix between a dark Bock, a Barleywine and a pack of throat lozenges. It’s certainly good but I’m not sure I will ever it buy again. Kampfar (285) - Osnabrück, GERMANY - MAR 31, 2017
From 0.3 L bottle; pours muddy, dark brown coloured with a light brown head. Heavy malty aroma, herbal, dried fruit, a bit like some kind of fruit bread, also slightly alcoholic. Medium sweet initial taste, much sweeter in the middle. Very herbal, also in the middle. Nearly no malty taste, much less than expected. Leading to a short finish. Medium body with soft carbonation and slightly dry mouthfeel. It’s OK, interesting to taste but don’t need it more often. johnnnniee (4408) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 26, 2017
Bottle from Colonial Spirits.
Hazy deep brown color with a decent sized tightly bubbled tan head that slowly recedes. Lightly herbal on the nose with plenty of brown sugary maltiness to counter. Light pine in the flavor with a bit of bitterness and sweet bready caramel and brown sugar maltiness to counter. Light earthy spicy notes round this out nicely. I’m not usually a fan of gruit but this one I kind of liked. ruigo (3080) - PORTUGAL - MAR 9, 2017
33cl bottle. Almost clear reddish brown with a small tan head. Poor retention. Caramel, herbs, spices and fruits. Nice.
