From tap. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity and roasted malty. Caramelish. Overripe fruity. Toasted. Lingering malty and caramelish. Toasted malty and dry fruity far finish.

Medium aroma of malts, caramel, wood, vanilla, dried fruit, bread and spices.

Turbid/opaque dark orange/dark brown beer with heavy yeast and with a slight/medium beige head.

Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, wood, vanilla and dried fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread and spices.

This beer is intense and balanced, but lacks complexity. Very soft flavours and palate with a lot of flavour, but not very much going on at the same time. Very good beer overall, but never amazes.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a small off-white head and an aroma of vanilla, oak, toffee, ripe dark fruits, mango, licorice and dried plums. The taste is medium to heavy sweet with a full body, a soft carbonation and an medium lasting bittersweet finish. Nice!

Donkerbruin , ongefilterd, deeltjes gist, troebel, crèmekleurige schuimkraag die snel inzakt, iets koolzuur. Aroma: Vanille, hout, karamel, donker fruit, fruitige hops. Smaak: Vrij zoet, vanille tonen, zoethout, karamel, toffee, hout/Oak.

Third time to taste this beautiful beer, and compare it with its brother-beer Thomas & Kenau. Bottle with dark brown pour and tan head; some particles of yeast afloat. Aroma with clear wood/oak, vanilla, strong caramel/toffee, and at the end something more fusty. Taste is very full, but still surprisingly fresh; quite sweet, caramel, roasted malts, with a light bitter in the finish. Sweeter than Th&K. First swig has a little tickle on the tongue; probably from the alcohol. This is a beautiful and well balanced beer, rather sweet, but full bodied, and real tasty.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with light foamy head. Aromas of dark fruit and berries, oak, vanilla, toasted malts and spicy alcohol. Flavors of same with additional dry sugar and slightly metallic Belgian yeast. Light mouthfeel. American Strong or Belgian Quad? I’d go for the later. Very nice

Bottle from local bottle shop. Aroma is strong oak and sweet vanilla, malt, caramel, marzipan, grapes, caramelized fruits, white oak, candy. Flavour is very sweet and a bit boozy. Body is medium. Well brewed and I understand why most like this, but this is way too sweet and heavy on the vanilla and candy for my taste.
