Een zeer rijke quadrupel. Hout, karamel, vanille, appelstroop, koffie. Een mooie donkerbruine en wat viskeuze drank, met een weinig schuim.

Bottle shared at Mrks. Clear deep reddish brown with small beige head. Figs, sweet fruit yoghurt, syrup, sherry, vanilla, lots of spices, dry green herbs, caramel. Very boozy and quite a lot of oxidized notes. Medium sweet with bitter boozy finish. Medium bodied with a bit thin feel. Nice try but this is too boozy for me.

Bottle at home. Murky shit with almost no head. Malty, vanilla and caramell aroma. Malty and caramell flavour. Feels a bit too boozy for me.

KyotoLefty (10931) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 24, 2014
Bottle. 2013 version. Great nose of chocolate, caramel, spicy yeast. Dark brown with red and a fine head. Flavors of toffee, chocolate, brown sugar, chestnuts, oak. Hops are mostly gone from the nose and flavor, so it comes across more like a lighter-bodied Abt. Very, nice indeed.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours hazy deep red with a small creamy reddish beige head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is very sweet and malty with sweet dark bread, caramelized apples, alcohol, caramel, vanilla fudge, charred wood, hay, raisins, marzipan and glue. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with sweet dark bread, caramel, toasted cereal, caramelized apples, baked pears, charred wood, vanilla fudge, marzipan and glue. Mouthfeel is sharp, boozy, heavy astringent and medium to full bodied. finish is bitter with dark bread, apples, baked pears, marzipan, lemon peal and hay. A apple, pear and marzipan mess…

Bottle from European Local Swap 4.0 (At least I think so...) Clear deep copper/amber beer with a small beige head. Malty caramel aroma, toffee, oak, vanilla, raisins, cream, figs, grapes, woody, some candy and prunes. Malty caramel flavor, warming alcohol, grapes, toffee, woody, candy notes. Slightly boozy but with lots of good things to balance it.
