McTapps (6941) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - JUN 28, 2014
Pours out of the bottle (with many thanks to Douberd) in a hazy golden-amber colour with low steady head and smooth body. Aroma of hops, flowers and vanilla. Taste of deep roasted hops, barley, vanilla, oak, prunes and raisins. Wonderful to drink, enjoyed it.

Different from the normal Thomas, in the way that is has more oak and vanilla. Sharp edge from the fruity hops. Nice.

Bottle from Biernavigatie, @ home. Dark brown colour, creamy head. Sweet aroma with hints of caramel and lots of vanilla and bourbon. Light citrus taste from the hops. A bit too sweet, Ongelovige Thomas is better.

Delicious beer! Lots of caramel and vanilla in the aroma, head is gone pretty quickly though. Completely transforms the basis (ongelovige Thomas), but what a wonderful transformation!

Behoorlijk krachtige verbetering op de ongelovige thomas. De jaren hebben dit biertje goed gedaan

33cl bottle Appearance: red Brown with a beige creamy head. Good retention, leaves a light retention Aroma: Confit Fruit, wood, vanilla bourbon notes. Taste: Sweet, boozy bourbon vanilla wood with red fruit, lots of caramelised malts. Sweet Fruity finish with wooden tones. full body, soft- medium carbonation. Typical Jopen Quad/barley wine. So the typical sweetness however in this one they nail it, just going up to huge sweetness, but just avoiding the point were it becomes artifical.

Dark brown beer with quickly vanishing head. Boozy aroma of dark fruit. Taste has notes of wood, vanilla, caramel and is mild and slightly sweet. Pleasantly delicious.

Bottle, 2013 (10%). Very slightly hazy red-brown pour with off white head. Aroma is really nice, sweet, boozy, really vanilla bourbon notes, cherries. Taste is sweet, boozy, nice alcohol warmth, very bourbony. Palate is heavy, medium carbonation. Quite a tasty sipper, rich and boozy but what do you expect, it’s a barrel aged quad. Enjoyed it quite a bit.
