Bottled. Dark brown with red tints, lace. Juicy dreid fruit and treacle nose, raisins, cola. Sweet, fruity flavor with raisins, chocolate, treacle, and a light fruity tang. Full and silky. Would like to age this for a few years then try again. Still young, and the candi sugar is a bit too evident.

[ Trade by Benzai ]. Clear medium to dark brown - red amber colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, sugary - candy, sweet deep fruit, alcohol. Flavour is light heavy sweet with a long duration, sugary, brown sugar, caramel, sweet malt - yeast. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
12oz bottle via Summer Secret Santa 2013. Pours a slightly viscous, mahogany amber with some thin, creamy, slightly off white head. Nose has a ton of dried fruit and spice, prunes, raisins, dates, boozy, dark rum, ripe banana, clove, a little nail polish remover. Flavor is very boozy, a little hot, some rum, some sticky pineapple, clove, lots of raisin and date, some candy sugar, whole cloves, a little bubblegum. Full, sticky finish. Not bad, but could have used 12-24months in the bottle to really smooth out. paulvanpelt (693) - Reusel, NETHERLANDS - JUL 7, 2013
Mistig en mahonie van kleur, met kleine, maar blijvende mokka schuimkraag. Aroma vooral van gebrande mouten, maar ook koffie, chocolade, banaan. Smaak is medium bitter, medium zoet. Wordt wat droger in de nasmaak. Volle body, voelt ook vol aan in de mond. Erg lekker bier, jammer van de beperkte oplage. Thompson (714) - - JUN 21, 2013

Bottle provided by Borresteijn. Thanks a lot! Pours brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is ripe fruit and brown sugar with notes of spices and chocolate caramel. The flavor is deep malty and spicy with ripe fruits and some alcohol in the finish. Very nice attempt.

Brewed once a year as a tribute to Sint Martin, protector of the brewer’s guild in Haarlem. The last two years they brewed
an RIS, while this year they chose to brew a quadrupel, on a limited quality enough for 7500 bottles.
330 ml bottle, at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 10%. Bottle 5784/7500 if that says something.
Pours a very dark brown coloured beer with one finger of beuge head sitting on top. Good retention, it could be better.Good lacing left around the glass.
Very nice aroma, veery frutiy and not like any quadrupel I have had. Hints of green apples, bananas, even refreshing notes of ripe melon,
combine to create a fantastic aroma.
Very nice taste too, quite fruity as well, only once again with all the different fruits you are used to getting in a quadrupel. Alcohol is not
traceable on the taste but it sures gives a warrming feeling even from the first sip. Nice vanila notes as well, while the aftertaste is surely fruity.
Mildly bitter, but all in all a great taste.
Medium thick body, good carbonation that offers just a tiny bite on the tongue. Dry and sort of sticky at the same time on the palate.
Overall this was a great beer, highly recommended. tderoeck (10983) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUN 4, 2013

Clear purple brown beer, big creamy yellow to beige head, little stable. Aroma: lots of banana, more banana. Is this a La Trappe? Or made with La Trappe yeast? MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: raisin bread, very ripe banana, caramel, sugary. Aftertaste: caramel, toast, lots of banana, yeast, sugary, little hoppy, some chocolate and mocha flavours.
Color is black with a beige head. Smell sweet and fresh hay. Taste of roasted malt and licorice. Unfortunately therfore it is missing some body. Overall not bad.
