33cl 2014 vintage picked up in Eindhoven at some point in 2015, I believe. - Classic, easygoing US-style barleywine with upfront suffused caramels, vinsanto, sweet sherry notes topped off by delicate stone fruit hop aromas: the oak of white port, white chocolate and stone fruit jam meet in this almost classic, balanced, relatively easy boozer. - Went well enough with the first proper autumn dish, Eastern beef stew tajine with oven-roasted hokaido. sjogro (4735) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 4, 2015
From tap at Café Gollem Amstelstraat. Sweet googly moogly! Backlog from 2014/12/13. wyzzywyz22 (2752) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - MAR 2, 2015
Bottle. Reddy brown pour with a decent tan head. Nose had notes of booze, hops and caramel. Similar flavour with fairly prominent alcohol and quite robust bitterness alongside some dark fruit ,earth and wood notes. Decent stuff. MrHangover (4693) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - DEC 15, 2014
Bottle. Pours a murky brown beer with a small, quickly diminishing off white head on top. Aroma is incredibly malty, caramel, some booze and presences of faded hop characters in the background. I’d reckon that when this was fresh, it should’ve been quite hoppy, but this bottle is well over a year old. Flavor is sweet, boozy and malty, textbook barley wine in my opinion. Nice bittersweet, long finish and great warming mouthfeel. Soft carbonation, touches of dark ripe fruits in the background. Nice balanced, good stuff for sure!!
Bottle. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy dark fruit aroma. Sweetish malty spicy dark fruit and caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy dark fruit finish. tderoeck (10195) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUL 16, 2014

Bottle 33cl. Deep brown colour with white creamy head. Taste has the typical Jopen bitterness, but there’s a warm feeling (alcohol) with some chocolate. Nice, but no cigar. fonefan (51064) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUL 2, 2014
