Bottle from bierkoning as part of Euroswap, many thanks. Brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, mint, sage, ginger. Taste, herbal notes with ginger, mint, sage, followed by roasted malt, light coffee. Refreshing, enjoyable beer.

Bottle. This is a very interesting and exciting piece. Relatively clean base beer lets the special ingredients shine. There is assertive roastiness, some chocolatey toffeeish maltiness. But the spotlight goes to the brittle balance of salt and ginger, ginger taking the spotlight, cocoa coming in second along the chocolatey maltiness and salted up base providing an interesting twist. I like this very much.

Bottle, thanks to Cuso. Black colour, beige head. Aroma is roasted and spicy - ginger, licorice, anise, sage, badyan. Taste is again roasted with same spicy notes. Caramel. Salty. Full body. Alcohol present. Good.

(Draught at Cause Beer Loves Food, Amsterdam, 23 Feb 2017) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, caramel and slightly vinous aromas. Malty, roasted, vinous taste with notes of liquorice, caramel, coffee, dark fruit, spicy hints of anise and ginger and a balanced roasty bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty, fairly complex and quite powerful. Nice one.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2017 Deze imperiale porter is wat onbestemd. Karamel, wat mokka en wat geroosterde mout. Prima bier, maar niet helemaal in harmonie. Vettig mondgevoel, als chocolademelk.

Bottle @ home. Im not gonna claim its a bad beer but its really not the beer for me. Ginger combined with liquorice taste. Quite sweet also. Full body, soft carbo.

fkoolen (1107) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - FEB 22, 2017
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2017 Bottle at home. Very dark, slightly reddish brown, beige creamy head. Ginger is directly noticeable in the nose and taste, alongside espresso and dark cacao, sweet dried fruits and caramel, salt adds great depth of flavour and salmiak/liquorice notes, quite alcoholic and boozy: not too balanced, a bit weird. Big body, medium carbonation.

Kran.

(Jopen Meesterstuk 2017) Bottle 330ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 10% Dark brown to black colour on the body, small and thick beige head on top, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa , light gingrr, lauriel leaves, alcohol, caramel. Taste is sweet with a nice salty kick, plenty of chocolate, chocolate milk, not so much ginger but still there, complimenting the chocolate flavours. Thick body, right amount of carbonation. Great beer
