COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After years of toiling in kitchens and garages, conspiring in backrooms and secretly honing our craft, the Army of Darkness is emerging out of the shadows. Challenging the establishment with a heavy 10% ABV Black Triple IPA. Taste our sweat and blood in this dark and bitter beer. Subtle aromas of forest fruit, grapefruit and chocolate embody a sweet victory

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of pine, chocolate, peach, citrus and malt. Taste of bitter pine, peach, caramel, licorice, burned malt and heavy hop bitters. Aggresive beer, bit too much licorice for my liking, but it's nice.

Black with thin head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of dark malts and a little cocoa. Some muted hop notes in the background. Quite rich and full bodied.

Tried on draft at Van Moll, Eindhoven. Almost black colour with a tan head. A really fresh fruity aroma with slight toffee and roasted malt. Taste bitter to light sweet. Full rich body warming to finish.

Very good crafted black IIPA, it misses the usual dryness and bitterness but combines the IIPA thing with more vibrant flavour and senses. The malt doesn't take over and it remains a drinkable beer.

330ml bottle. Pours reddish, dark brown colour. Medium beige head. Grainy, fruity, citrussy, coffeish, roasty aroma. Roasted malts, bitterness, citrusses at first. Sweetness, slight caramel, roasted malts. Alcochol os not well covered. Quite sweet and bit boozy brew.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2017 Opaque black beer with a slight/medium brown head. Medium aroma; taste starts medium/heavy sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. A lot of chocolate, dark fruit, roasted malts and some hops.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2018 330ml bottle (Koht, Tallinn) (6:4:6:4:13=3.3)
Dark, persistent tight beige head. Quite heady vapoury aroma, mashy, but indeed roastiness is also there. Full palate, pleasant carbonation. Full mashyish roasty taste, strength not completely hidden. Finish is bitter hops and a strange hint of mushrooms. Does seem to have the Jopen house taste a bit, and they're best when not doing 10% impies. Late finish is dry and bitter. Too late, my mind was made up before the numbing metallic finish.

Messy aroma, roast malts, bombastic hops, zesty, but just a mess. Taste worse, mushroomy too. Nice full palate, pleasant carbonation, pleasant bitterness. Inane hop overload finish. Doesn't feel 10%, because it feels like a throw-all-the-shit-in-nooooo-throw-even-more-in mess. I'd rather have a boring 4.0% English bitter than this.

330ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Pitch black color. Medium size, tan head, stays. Roast, citrus, fruity, alcohol in aroma. Roast, fruity, bit sweetish, chocolate and bit yeasty in taste. Citrus, roast, sweetish in aftertaste. Alcohol is there, but not in front row. Solid brew.
