The beer had a nice look. On top of the beer a nice layer of almond colored foam is formed. The bulk of the foam collapses within several minutes. A nice drape of foam is left in top of the beer. The beer itself is quite cloudy. The beer has nice color. Its something in between ruby red and brown. There is a little orange glow in it to. The smell of the beer is nice. It is a typical bokbier smell. There are aromas of licorice root, syrup, caramel and toffee. The licorice gives the beer a nice bittersweet natural aroma. The other aromas could have been a tiny bit stronger, to properly balance out the licorice. The taste is the same. Again, the licorice is a bit to strong. It makes the beer a tiny bit to bitter. Its a by dry. There is a nice touch of wood in the taste. The palate is a bit boring to be honest. A little meet sensation would have been nice.
