22 Oct 2012 in Valkenburg, Holland: Cafe De Grendelpoort is having a Bockfest and this was one of the brews on-tap.
Very dark, most likely the darkest Bok I saw during my stay in Holland. The head was also the whitest I saw on a Bok this time around.
The aroma and taste were of roasted but not burnt malts with red berry notes in both the smell and mouth flavours. Coffee, prunes and plums can be added to the taste thoughts as this is a complex and interesting beer.
Medium bodied and easy to drink: pity there were so mant to try, or I could have stayed on this for another one or three!
Bottle at home. Almost brown color, brown disappearing head. Nice taste, medium sweet, soft aftertaste. Moolesen (587) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 6, 2017
Bottle 33cl. Brown with a foamy beige head. Nice aroma of autumn, liquorice and malt. Flavour is following the aroma. Nice and rich. Pyobon (1481) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - SEP 30, 2017
(Bottle) Cloudy brown with small white head. Pleasant aroma - toffee with toasty and fruity notes. Medium body with good carbonation. Rich toffee initially, balanced with some quite complex fruity notes, then some chocolate hints for a rich but not very bitter finish. Interesting and pleasant.
