50 cL bottle. Pours clear and deep golden brown with a dense and off-white head. Dry breadish malt aroma with a light fruity note. Single bottle purchased from an Edeka Grocery Store in Winterberg, Germany on 01/09/2011. Colour: Medium dark brown, high brown head that quickly faded. Nose: Chocolate mousse malt, hazelnuts and pecans, shades of rainforest coffee. Taste: Medium-light sweet, medium-light bitter, light sour. Shades of roated nuts, a smattering of egg, slight metallic tingle, finish become burnt embers. Better aroma than taste. saxo (18208) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - MAR 23, 2014
Bottle. Huge creamy head with excellent duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, caramel, little nuts and fruity notes. dortmunder (961) - Herdecke, GERMANY - SEP 12, 2005
Bottled. Very dark ruby red colour, almost black. Small off-white head. Roastmalty, chocolatey aroma with hints of liquorice. Lightly roastmalty, sweet with notes of caramel and liquorice, maybe a bit of gingerbread and coffee in there. Quite nice. JorisPPattyn (9929) - Ursel, BELGIUM - NOV 6, 2005
UPDATED: NOV 11, 2005 Greige, creamy head over well carbonated black beer, foxy shine. Blackcurrant, black chocolate, brown sugar on bread, all fading aroma’s. Dark malts, melanoidine-rich. Lots of restsweetness but balanced by dry-bitterish flavours: woody, slightly hoppy, tannine-like. Whiffs of coffee and cigarette ashes. Dry and sweet at the same time, light to medium body. Very good balance for this Dunkel. Plain but forthright, "quaffable". Kudo’s to these people.

(swing top bottle) Hazy dark brown colour with a ruby shine and a big tanned foamy head with slow lace. Dark malty toasty aroma with caramel and chocolate. Toasted malty taste with caramel, medium body, smooth carbonation and mouthfeel; dry and moderately bitter toasty and light hoppy finish with liquorice and milk coffee. Good Dunkel. Thanks a lot MoritzF! Nice dark brown color with a huge frothy tan head. Caramel and toasted malt nose. Same applies to the taste - the toasted malt kicks in first but it has a weak finish. Light body. HenrikSoegaard (14101) - Randers, DENMARK - APR 17, 2014

* Old rating, 0,5l, best before 10.02.06. Mild-malziger Antrunk.

Sweetish, malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, nuts and hints of raisins. Sweetish, malty and a bit fruity taste of caramel, nuts, some chocolate and hints of raisins, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little roasty and slightly earthy finish.
