On Tap at Brewforia-Meridian. Clear orange/light amber with a nice sandy colored head that slowly settled to a thin ring. Aroma is very sweet and carmelly with peach and apricot notes. No hint of the heat to come. The first sip took care of that. Very spicy. Sizzles all the way down. Some grassy bitter hops are in there somewhere but the pepper torches it all off. A gimmick for sure but I imagine it was what they were going for. Al little sweetness is back there but a burning toungue is the reminder. Very interesting.

On tap @ Aces & Ales, Vegas. Hazy orange-tinted golden with a thick white head. Nice lace. Vegetal peppery nose, and heaps of habanero pepper on the palate. Early in the glass, the hops are evident too, but the peppers eventually eclipse the finer flavour notes. Nice heat, with moderate to bold intensity that burns deep in the throat. Too hot for Parksy, so I finished his too.

My favorite beer. Somewhat similar to the Habenero Sculpin (Ballast Point) but substantially spicier, which is exactly what I expect from anything that boasts an association with the great habenero pepper.

On draft. Golden orange pour with a small white head. Malty and peppery aroma, and the taste is very spciey, in my opinion too spicey, missing the hop character. Don’t have this with a spciey meal.

Bottle shared by Nat. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted pepper and malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth hot pepper flavor with a medium to heavy hot finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded.

Bottle to snifter (thanks dudeabide). Looks good; like the base. Smells hoppy, toasty, and spicy; a strange, but interesting mix. Tastes spicy, but has alright balance. Average on the palate. A good pepper beer.

Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Strong pepper aroma and spiciness on the nose. Some citrus peel hops, a light pine note, and a fair amount of malt sweetness. Flavor starts out with bready malt an notes of toffee. A bit of tea, some citrus peel, and faint pine. The pepper flavor is light up front and comes on strongly at the finish and leaves a lingering heat on the throat.

Half-pint from Chuck’s. Good God this is spicy. I can barely taste anything else. This is now the second habanero beer I’ve had and I’m pretty sure it’s too spicy for anything more than a gimmick. I had a hard time muscling down half a pint and cant’ imagine an entire one. Novel, but not much else.

On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours cloudy golden with medium head. Aroma is chili spice and faint hops. Taste is big, immediate heat. Whoa. A nice, muted, fruity hop flavor with middling malts follows. Finishes super hot from the habañero. Totally unique and the heat meshes well with the sweet alcohol and hops. Actually more balanced than the regular Hop Box. Easily the hottest beer I’ve ever had, if that’s your thing.

On tap at Aces and Ales. Pours a cloudy amber with small off white head. The aroma is chili and spice. Thin mouthfeel with an overpowering habanero and chili flavor and very spicy finish. A decent IPA from Joseph James.
