650 ml bottle @ ISKTR V. Pours a pitch black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of heavy roastiness, cacao, ash and mudcake. Flavour of rich burnt roastiness, a bit of red berries, wooden notes, mudcake, espresso and some bitterness. Full bodied. Oily mouthfeel. Very dry.

650ml bottle @ ISKTR

Pours pitch black with a small head. Aroma of roasty malts, burnt notes, hints of licorice and ash. Taste is smooth, sweetish and heavy with loads of licorice, ash and burnt roasty malts. Finish is smooth, roasty and burnt with some ash, licorice and leather. Too burnt.

Generous amounts of coffee cocoa and caramel in nose and flavors. Finishes slightly sweet and thick, great for style.

Thanks to gregwislonstl for sharing this one. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. The aroma has roast, soy, dark chocolate and dark caramel. It has a medium/full body with some light carbonation. The flavor starts with dark chocolate, ice cream malt, some spices, anise and astringency. The finish has spices, dry cocoa and roast. Nice.

Good coffee aroma. Some licorice. Taste good but cloying sweet. Low level carbonation. Seems under fermented. Ok effort, may be age in bottle.

Finhead (1783) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - MAR 8, 2015
A dark, brown pour with a huge, brown head. The aroma has molasses, chocolate, brown sugar, and mild coffee. It has a full body with chewy texture and average carbonation. The taste is sweet all the way through.

The aroma is very nice with molasses, licorice, coffee, and chocolate. The appearance is black with a thin tan head. The taste is like the aroma but very bitter and astringent. It’s almost like tar. The palate is typical for the style. Overall not a great beer but has some good qualities of an impy.
