12floz/355ml bottle into a tulip glass; served cool.
Aroma: Daaaaaaaaamn that is boozy. It smells like someone basically poured the darkest chocolate you have ever had into a glass. Chocolate and booze. I can get behind that.
Appearance: Let me just say that this is the blackest beer I have ever poured. It looks like ink coming out of the bottle. Minimal dark brown head that dissipates into nothing. Blackest black black I have ever black.
Taste: Wow, once again, straight chocolate. This one doesn’t mess around. Chocolate on top of chocolate. A little smoke, but it’s chocolate smoke. Red Fox you so crazy.
Palate: Silky smooth with a full body and a long long bittersweet finish.
Overall: If you’re looking for a lot of diversity in the flavor profile, Red Fox isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a sexy, chocolate filled stout, look no further. I love you, Red Fox. kevinkocchi (2) - Wisconsin, USA - DEC 22, 2009 does not count
I also received the most recently brewerd batch of these beer from a friend in Vegas. It is quite the beer. Pours thick with a great head. THe aroma is powerful and gets you ready for what you are about to taste. The flavors, whicl i can not pin point any flavors, there is a lot going on. Roasted, and a bit dry, the alcohol taste is not overpowering, and as a whole it leaves an enjoyable long lasting aftertaste. There is one thing thank can be said about JJ brewing co., there is a lot of balance in their beers, which a lot of brewers in my opinon, miss. Welley_Alves (262) - Sao Paulo, BRAZIL - MAY 12, 2013
Retrogosto lembrando cafe e toffee. Excelente breja!

Nice stout. Smooth. A tad thick but not too much. Roasty. A hint of sweetness. Very drinkable.

Generous amounts of coffee cocoa and caramel in nose and flavors. Finishes slightly sweet and thick, great for style.

Black color, with brown head, short lived. Sweet aroma, with roasted malt and molasses. Full bodied, round; flavor of roasted malt, dark caramel, rich chocolate, molasses, touch of tobacco; medium sweetness. It has the expected strong bitterness, well blended together.
Very good, rich.
Great Russian imperial with big chocolate notes big roast. Great thick mouthfeel without being too sweet. Great carbonation nitro like. Fantastic. HarmonKill-a-Brew (407) - Wilmar, Arkansas, USA - JUL 25, 2010
BLACK! Very pleasent coffeeishness and bitterness! Also a bit of warm alcohol, chocolate, and licorice... yummy! kathouse (1942) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - NOV 14, 2011
Tan head sits on this black ale. Typical aroma of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. Quite a bit of bitterness is apparent. Low carbonation gives a thick mouthfeel and syrupy flow. Roasted malts and coffee give way to a lingering bitterness. jewellrunner (1) - USA - FEB 12, 2012 does not count
Can’t I just rate beers out of 10 instead of spouting nonsense. Seriously, I’m not an expert. I just know what I like.
