Bottle. Pretty good german pils, which was a little suprising honestly. Nice hallertau hops in the aroma and flavour. Light and refreshing brew. Nebulor (109) - , California, USA - MAR 3, 2009
Pale malt aroma with esters in the background.
Pours a light golden color with a lime hue, minimal white head, and had some sediment.
Bready grain malt taste with grapefruit/lime flavored hops and a butter background.
Light/medium bodied, resinous, with lively carbonation.
A drinkable bargain. dwaggs2 (1298) - Jefferson City, Missouri, USA - MAR 2, 2009
Bottle. Aroma is weak basement hops, some floral hops. Gold pour with a white head. Decent flavor and aftertaste. Not much of a hop bitterness though, like I like. Decent beer though. kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - FEB 28, 2009
Slightly grassy spicy german hops with a discernible rich malt note. Golden with a big foamy off-white head that laces the glass as it dissipates slowly. Mild up front with a crisp feel and a light malt body Finishes midly bitter and hangs on with a spicy note. Not bad, a bit watery and thin.

Well, adventures in low budget drinking continues with this offering from Trader Joe. Now I’ve had this before and I remembered it being pretty good, so maybe what I’m drinking right now is an old or damaged specimen, but Joe contracted, shipped, stored and sold it this way, so I’ve gotta rate what’s in the glass. And it stinks. Like old wet cardboard, something stale and musty. Can’t smell the hops. Can taste them, the beers got a nice bitter bite. Some bready malt, and a little floral/ light pine taste. And more of that old mustiness. With a little soapiness. Not sure what went wrong here, the beer some good flavor elements, but there mixed with that old nastiness. Nice enough looking, rich gold color, and a nice enough texture, and the finish is the best part of the flavor, a lingering hoppiness without the off flavors. Less than satisfactory.

yellow body with a small white head.fruity type aroma.flavor is much of the same with hay and oats thrown in. SSSteve (4006) - - JAN 27, 2009
pale yellow under a small white head. aroma of alcohol, pear syrup, banana but not really in a good way. flavor is of pears, residual sugar. watery, over carbonated texture. i wasn’t impressed with this. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 23, 2009
Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with a short cap of white head and some rising carbonation. The aroma picked up sweet bready notes accented by lemon zest and greener, floral hoppage.. hints of smoke if you really stick your nose in there. The flavor had the same bready notes supporting the aforementioned lemon zesty bitterness.. some caramel and some tangy light fruity bitterness in there too.. finished a bit sharp with more bitterness than sweets. Lighter-bodied and fairly aggressive on the palate (bit too much so for the style).. dried out at the end and left a lengthy impression. Decent. Sparky (2244) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JAN 20, 2009
Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a one finger snow white head and nice lacing. The nose is sweet malt and light pilsner yeast. Taste is malt, sweet grain and light hops. Medium mouth feel. Nothing special, but drinkable. flatmatt (1635) - Northville, Michigan, USA - JAN 18, 2009
12 oz bottle. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is a honey sweetness and biscuits, mild spicy hops. A nice hoppy flavor with biscuity malts, a bit of green apple, much drier than the aroma suggests. Very astringent, which detracts from the experience a little and is reflected in my overall rating. Otherwise, seems like a pretty solid pilsner to me.
