Clear copper with a white head. A little bready up front with zest earthy hops. Toasted malt, too. Medium bodied. Surprisingly nice. Brigadier (3750) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - NOV 30, 2016

Trader Joes is not known for stellar beer. However for less than $1.25 a bottle the cost of entry is pretty low. As a result it got thrown in with the other beers. One is enough; I am not likely to find myself going back again unless the beer budget gets very tight. If Gordon Biersch is your thing though give it a try.
Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy coppery body manages to maintain an average clam presence that is the highlight of this beer. The snowy head and idle carbonation trap a mixture of Wurthers, malt, and semisweet chocolate chips. Crispness and freshness can do little to mask a "meh" bill.
Flavor / Palate - Dry, light, and crisp malts get the job done with little fanfare. There’s not much depth or many style points. Fortunately it also lacks any glaring flaws. This just simply is. One is enough to confirm why I rarely pick up the Josephbrau brand.
Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear light brown brew with tan head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, some complexity in the malt notes, and simple light grassy hops. Taste is standard issue Oktoberfest - slightly sweet up front with a decent degree of hops in the finish. Its not a standout but holds its own and compares favorably to more prominent brands. Pretty good. nasmith003 (252) - Virginia, USA - SEP 25, 2016
From the bottle. Malty aroma, light head, medium carbonation. Golden copper color. Sweet malt up front, light bitter hop finish that fades quickly. Easy drinking beer. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - SEP 5, 2016
Copper gold tint, clear beer with a light foamy white lace ring head. Aroma is vienna malt. Flavor is light and bitter with a medium malt backbone. It was almost gone before I could rate it.
rumproasts (6035) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - DEC 20, 2015
bottle. Amber with one finger head. Not as bad as the heller bock, but fairly mediocre. Light to medium body with caramel malt and light nuttiness. I think a few more hops would go a long way here.
Metalchopz (3515) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 1, 2015
Purchased at Trader Joe in Vegas. Pours an amber colour with a very slight haze. The head is warm, lasts a good time and creates thick lacing. The aromas are mild but with a nice blend of cereal, caramel and hints of fruity malts. The taste is a little sweeter, fruitier, but still malty. Hints of spices, decent bitterness. A little apples. Not a bad beer overall and better than their Bohemian lager. burleybrew (75) - - NOV 24, 2015
Gordon Biersch is one of the best German style breweries in America & the repackage here is an amazing deal. Great malty beer w/toasty overtones from the Munich malt. solidfunk (9407) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - OCT 31, 2015
Lots of paint thinner and rust in this. Pours amber with ok head. Finishes pretty astringent. Not a great package. Bottle. csaso (2321) - Missouri, USA - OCT 19, 2015
Bottle - small foamy head, light copper color, sweet malty aroma and flavor, mild earthy hop balance, ok overall
