12 oz. bottle to mug. Pours dark brown (surprise?) with thin tan head that continues to ring. Bread and nuts (another surprise?). Typically sweet with just a touch of bitter. Nicely carbonated that creates a mouthfeel. Nothing over powering about this, just a drinkable brown ale.

bottle. clear brown with a creamy, beige head with good retention. sour nose. foamy mouthfeel. some faint notes of brown sugar and nuts, but this one may be a little infected. sour flavor(cidery, green apple, acetaldehyde). missing some fullness...some sweetness. just foamy and thin.

Brown, thin white head. Smells very sweet - brown sugar, caramel, molasses. Fairly rich. Flavor is sweet, too caramel, brown sugar. Pretty typical brown ale. New Tennessee beer though, so it’s got that goin’ for it...

12 oz. Deep brown with ruby hues, and a lasting creamy head. Nose of spicy cocoa and toasted nut shell. Taste is the same, plus some milk chocolate, dry grass and wood. Light-medium body is a little rough and to the sweet side, but fairly sessionable.

coolpop (1394) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - MAY 2, 2011
Bottle. Pours medium brown with a big, foaming, overcarbonated head. Aroma and flavor are some roasted malt, caramel, molasses, macadamias and other roasted nuts, a touch of tartness, and some metal (in the foam). Palate is on the thin side. Didn’t quite come together for me.

Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 8, 2011
Bottled. Poured clear, medium amber with not a whole lot of head. The aroma picked up sweet honey and nutty notes with some fruity overtones.. sweet overall and fairly pleasant. The flavor found nutty notes, molasses, and a little chocolate at the core (more chocolate as it progressed).. some sour malty notes throughout.. dry on the finish. Light-bodied on the palate, with the tartness giving some really odd character.. didn’t seem infected, though.. I didn’t much care for this.

Pours ruby brown with a thick foamy beige head. Aroma has lots of roasty malt and nut. Taste is the same, lots of toasted malts. Thinner body, high carbonation.
