Poured from the bottle, a clear, slightly carbonated, yellow with a decent frothy head that laced well. A sweet yeasty/wheatish aroma, which is replicated in the taste. Nice and smotth on the palate.

Hazy, yellow. Creamy white head. Yeasty aroma with notes of coriander and bergamottes. Warming flavour with malty sweetness. Nice palate.

Lubiere (13183) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 3, 2005
Hazy yellow blonde with a thick white lacing creamy head. Metallic spices of coriander, orange and juniper. In mouth, warm alcool with astringent notes, but realtively nice orange peels, and juniper gin notes. Creamy mouthfeel. Not bad. Bought in Peguera, Spain, Feb. 2005.

ToadMan (559) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - OCT 8, 2005
Light orangy copper color with a nice frothy head. Aroma is strong of apples, pears, lightly citrusy and moderately yeasty. Flavor is much the same, lightly sour and with a lighy hoppy bitterness. Sligtly warming but hides the alcohol well.

Well, for #100 I was planning to have something more special, but Id exhausted most of the local stock and was a bit too lazy to travel. Poured a murky pale orangey gold colour with a huge rocky head that laced quite well. The aroma was yeasty and fruity sweet, but slightly metallic. That carried through with tasting, and some hoppy bitterness and dry finish as well. It was surprising thin, with a relatively weak aftertaste, possibly due to the dryness. It contains the alcohol quite well, and the kick comes up from the stomach rather than burning down the throat. Good, but there are plenty of better strong ales more widely available.

Another strong, dark golden ale. Standard pour in the glass. Light spice and alcohol in the taste with a solid whack of sugary sweetness. Decent, but still short of the top notch Belgians.

[bottle from peckhams] Pours light yellow with a large foamy head. Aroma is yeastywith some coriander, some pine and some herbal notes. the body is light and the finish is a little dry. Similar to duvel but lacks the spicey palate and vibrant body.

Aroma starts sour then changes to a sort of boiled cabbage/vegtable smell. Taste is better with the sourness not overpowering but still there with a little vegtable taste. Disapointing.

Mid gold colour with an excellent, lasting head. Yeast and hops in the aroma and a sweet-spicy citrus taste with a bit of dryness. Plenty of alcohol: another great Belgian beer.

Poured a clear golden with a big head. Malty and almost too sweet. Great big burst on the palate.
