Draught at the brewpub. Pours murky, muddy walnut brown with a tiny, edgy film. Aroma is malt (cookie, caramel), toasted nuts and yeast (dark bread). Malt and nuts dominate the flavor, faint banana bread notes, medium sweetness and tart, acidic finish. Medium bodied and creamy, smooth palate. Clear, with a chestnut hue. Very aromatic, with notes of nuts and almond extract. Nice carbonation level. Chewy-sweet malts. Mild, but balanced, bitterness. Pretty good brown ale, with a decent hop presence (though, not too bitter).
