[6041-20131102] Tap. Acetone aroma, like a bit of toasted nail polish. Hazy, dark brown black body with a long-lasting creamy tan head. Bitter roasted acetone continues in the flavour. Full body. Good, strange at first. (6/3+/7/3/14) 3.3 Freaky_tiki (1367) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 12, 2014

Flight sampler at the brewery may be the best of the ones on offer. Gotta dig that Johnny Cash reference but was a little confused by the snootiness & cluelessness of the two editors (ok the girl was ok but the guy was a windbag) of torontoboozehound.com who sat at my table (even if they say nice things about me in their review of this beer). This brew is decent if muddy interpretation of the style. JoeMcPhee (9598) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 7, 2014
Tap at Bar Hop. Deep brown pour with a thick white/tan head. The aroma is rich and cocoaish. Rich and chewy with a nice chewy malt character. Earthy with a bit of molasses and toffee. Lovely. kevinsenn (2294) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 3, 2013
Bottle from brewery. Pours deep dark brown, clear, with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty, grainy, with light chocolate and spice. Taste is very dry, roasty, and bitter, with metallic and spice notes. Not my favourite, but fine.

2012-11-02. Very dark brown not quite black body with modest beige head. Aroma is lightly herbal and mildly roasty. Sweetish malt base. Flavour is a bit different, unexpectedly fruity esters, sweetish malt core and mild roast in the finish. Smooth average bodied palate, pleasant carbonation. My bottle [500ml] shared with HogTownHarry & biegaman. Pours a very dark brown with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and light leafy hops. Only slightly watery flavour of roasted malt, coffee and light leafy hops. Average bodied. A good English-style Porter. Spab (4143) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 13, 2013
500 ml bottle from brewery. Pours a murky dark brown with orange edges and thin light tan head. Aroma is coffee with some brown sugar and chocolate. Flavour is modestly roasty, lightly bitter coffee and cocoa with some light brown sugar. Somewhat acidic. Lightly carbonated. Good. HogTownHarry (7081) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - FEB 12, 2013
500ml bottle shared by blankboy with me and biegaman. Almost black ruby, clear, smallish off-white frothy head. Dry, nutty aroma with strong stale coffee (in a good way), a little perfume and not much alcohol. Taste follows, a little ropy - simple, nice. Slick, mild carbonation, a little carbonized and a reasonably long bitter slightly acidic finish. Nice one!
