Transfer from BA review on 11-17-13- Poured from growler into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a deeper golden color with two fingers of pure white head. The head has a good level of retention slowly fading over time to leave a moderate level of streaky lace on the sides of the glass. Smell –The aroma is heaviest of a sweet citrus smell mixed with a little bit of a grainy smell. Other decently strong grapefruit hop smells and some earthy and herbal smells are there as well as some aromas consisting of a more caramel nature. In the end, the beer has a nice semi-sweet and diversely hopped aroma. Taste –The taste begins with a lightly grainy and bready taste mixed with a bit of a hop taste of a citrus and earthy nature. A light caramel sweetness is present from the start with it fading more toward the middle, giving the brew a rather drier taste overall. The citrus hop loses it ground more toward the end being replaced by an earthy and herbal flavor. The malt, while light in the beginning also ends up becoming even weaker, in the end leaving a rather dry and earthy and herbal bitter flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather thin with a carbonation level that is rather average. A bit of a thicker body may have supported the hop flavors of the brew slightly better but at only 4.8 % abv overall the feel was rather appropriate. Overall – While it is overall very light, the brew has rather nicely bitter earthy flavor. A bit more malt and sweetness could have supported the hop slightly better, but overall it was rather enjoyable.

Draft at Rooney's. Copper. The hops were definitely lacking on this one but, the citra was noticeable. Light body, with a bready malt that came through as "dirty." Pretty bad, maybe it just wasn't fresh. I wouldn't get this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Opaque and orange pour. Watery lace borders the glass. In your face aroma of hops, yeast sediment, barley, grass, pine and lemons. The flavor is similar, citrus notes accompanied by earthy characteristics and then finishes hop-strong. Watery palate, loads of barley, hops are secondary but that’s no problem with me.

Excellent overall, good example of an IPA. What sets this apart from the rest is that is is not a high alcohol beer.

Draft @ Holy Grail, Epping, NH. Crystal clear yellow urine color, some head retention. Aroma is weak biscuit malt and weak floral hops. I don’t get Citra from the dry hopping in the nose.

Flavor is weak notes of grassy and floral hops. Malt base is mild with light grain. The body is thin and watery. Lightly dry finish and texture. Very mild in every way. Dare I say weak?? Ok, overall it’s not impressive for any true hophead. But it does work as a decent shelf beer when grabbing groceries at the super market.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark orange-amber color with a huge foamy orange-beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was malty caramel and grapefruit. The flavor was bitter grapefruit, malty biscuit, caramel, lemon and a touch of floral hops. Medium length finish of biscuit, caramel and grapefruit. Medium body. Nothing special but pleasant drinking.

Pours a light orange. Has a strong a strong citrus and hop aroma. An average flavor with heavy grains, malts, and light citrus hops. A bitter malt and hop aftertaste.

Decent IPA, fresh bottle. Fruity citrus taste initially, and then a little malty watery. Decent drinkability.

A great-tasting IPA, great label, horrible choice of name. Hoppy contrasted by malt. Best part is the right amount of alcohol for enjoying a few at a time - rare for an IPA. Love this beer, only wish it was more readily available.
