3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very dark brown, almost black actually, with a good sized bubbly, beige head. Aroma is malty and I guess more roasted. There is a good amount of toffee, as well as nutty, dark licorice, and a little bit of chocolate. It is a more unusual aroma actually. I get a good deal of toffee and that licorice in the taste. This has a surprisingly fruity or citrus tartness in here. Kind of sweet as well. Medium in body and smooth in texture. Aftertaste is nutty toffee with that tartness mentioned above. This is pretty good and a little different. The more I sip, the more I seem to enjoy it.
Refrigerated 0.5 L brown bottle poured into a English pint glass. Black with medium beige head. Aroma is caramel, medium body, lower carbonation, and good small-bubble lacing. Taste is caramel, chocolate, and a little subtle fruit (mostly plumb). GingerBeerbird (1) - Bradford, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 18, 2017 does not count
Love this Beer. The Brooklyn Choc Stout is surprisingly a little too sweet and sickly for me so this is a perfect Girl Brew :) Jabic (702) - Plainfield, Vermont, USA - AUG 11, 2017
Ar: Fig, burnt sugar; ash and red wine grape. caramelized pineapple. Ap: Deep true brown, almost opaque; very small light mocha head, leaves a ring of thin, medium bubbles. T: Clean alcohol and lots of ripe pineapple and burnt sugar; sherry and nougat notes; coffee and slight fruit leathers; bitterness is medium-low; peppery booze on the finish; very peppery. P: Very firm body despite extremely low carbonation; finish is medium-dry. O: A really unique strong English ale; lots of pineapple and burnt sugar notes; rich and powerful, with a clean booze backbone. Grumbo (3980) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - MAY 20, 2017

An old ale with sweet stout flavours. Forward alcohol and a nice colour and head. However it really wasn’t my thing.

Nice dark ale although a little overpowering its a good example of this genre ok Grzesiek79 (4435) - Radom, POLAND - OCT 24, 2016
Superowe piwo. W starym dobrym stylu. Ciemna brazowa barwa niemal czarne prawie nie ma przeswitu. Bardzo niewielkie refleksy czerwieni. Piana o atramentowym odcieniu, puszysta i gruba, sredniej wielkosci ale bardzo trwala. Zapach likierowego alkoholu i goracej czekolady. W smaku na poczatku likierowa slodycz, cos jakby porto i polewa czekoladowo-krowkowa na ciescie w ktorym jest mnostwo borowek i jagod. A wiec spora mieszanka ciemnych granatowych owocow, deserowa czekolada i uderzenie alkoholu szlachetnego. Po chwili po przelknieciu posmak slodyczy powoli ustepuje a alkohol blyskawicznie ustepuje tworzac rozgrzewajaca koncowke z lekka nute chmielowosci i palonego slodu. Bardzo zlozone i ciekawe piwo.
