Dark chestnut color, tan head. Sweet malty aroma, pretty earthy. Earthy and malty again, some hoppy bitterness. Medium to full body, some alcohol came through. Pretty nice. Shared with frielock. Dogbrick (13759) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 25, 2004
This Barley Wine pours a dark reddish-brown color with a thin light brown head. Thin lacing. The aroma is malty and fruity. Lighter body than most Barley Wines, with flavors of roasted malt, caramel, and fruit. The finish is very sweet and borderline cloying. Not the best of the style, but maybe a "Beginner's Barley Wine" due to the lighter body and more sedate flavors. Zach Diesel (905) - Sisters, Oregon, USA - JAN 20, 2004
tobaccolike and slightly smokey aroma, chocolate brown with sand like sediment, burnt maltiness, some chewy meat like flavors and dark chocolate notes Kaya161 (1142) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 20, 2004
Too much chunky brown sediment. Deep auburn/ruby colour. Malty/spicy aroma with similar flavour. Braudog (6835) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - JAN 4, 2004
Solid leather-brown color with cratered foamy head. Yeasty and fruity aroma. Acidic mouthfeel, tart and roasty. Alcohol is evident. Good desert beer; why am I drinking this with football?
