JulienHuxley (5792) - Trois-Rivičres, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 6, 2015
On tap at Kulovy Blesk. Black pour with rich tan foam. Aroma is quite interesting for a tmave, much more coffee than I am used to, very roasty stout like character, pretty tame on the dried fruit raisin these usually have. Taste is also pleasant, nice coffee roastiness, light sweetness. Palate is nice and dry, good body without being too syrupy, good carbonation. Nice stuff.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2013 (Bottle 0,5l) Roasted malt, light coffee, light bitter chocolate aroma. Clear dark amber-red color. Medium light brown head. Light sweet, light bitter, very light caramel, light coffee, cocoa taste. Light body. Light fizzy. Sticky texture. Dry finish.

Tap at the Arts Café, Kralupy n.V., CZ; dark ruby color, quickly disappearing off-white head. Aroma of dark malt, bread, some spice like clove. Taste is in balance between sweet and dry (at first sweet, aftertaste very dry), medium bitter. Dark malt, hints of coffee and dark chocolate. Medium body, soft carbonation.
Nice.

On tap at the brewery: Very deep amber coloured with a firm off-white foam, moderate mainly dry malty aroma: caramel, dark malt with traces of roasted malt, moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium-bodied, dryish, a bit roast-malty finish. A fine, well made and moreish beer.............

(Keg at the market, 20160616) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts and molasses. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, bread, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. A plausible schwarz.

Gurthnar (5820) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - DEC 27, 2014
Tap at Le Senk. Typical Czech tmavy. Dark caramel, rather sweetish, fruity, with only minor roasted notes. Clear dark brown colour, quite stable head. Not exactly my style, but otherwise an OK beer.
