COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There’s a lot of collaboration around which appear to be marriages of convenience. This is not one of those. This is a collaboration born out of love, admiration, and respect for each other, and of course, malt and hops. Lots of malt, and hops! Ever wondered what happens when you combine the malt blast of an Exit Scotch Ale with a customary hop tornado from Kaiju!?
Then wonder no more. Behold SCHOPSH! in all its flavoursome glory. We honour our past and celebrate our future with this bottle.

Stew41 (2093) - Phuket, THAILAND - JUN 9, 2017
Fair bit of punch here. Loads of cola and mild peat; feels a touch heavy for 6.5%. Again served very cold and needs to closer to room temperature to show its best.

jredmond (8769) - New York, New York, USA - MAR 14, 2017
Bottle shared with Evan in Sydney. Pours a deep mahogany with thin white lacing. Notes of burnt pine, toasted caramel malt and an ashy, unpleasant hop profile.

4.2
colui72 (1117) - HONG KONG - DEC 6, 2016
Dark brown, hazy, with a cream head and thick lacing. Hoppy on the nose with citrus and grass, notes of toasted malts and caramel. Smooth and full bodied in the palate, with a good balance of malts and hops: caramel, roasted malts, smoke, wood, to balance the hops, which provide tasty citrus, mango and resin notes. Bitter finish. Very nice, unusual ale.

3.3
DeliriumT (543) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 16, 2016
Pours quite dark with good head retention. Aroma of toast, burnt toffee and spice. Flavour is blander than the aroma, and the bitterness dominates. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

ALLOVATE (3071) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 26, 2016
At just on on cool and into a snifter. A weird, complex combination of nuances on the nose. Burning peat and green twigs, weedy herbs, hessian and leather, tangerine and mandarin pulp, apricot and mango, rubber and sweet, floral perfume. Chewy, big and bold on the palate. Smoky, ashen linger. Smooth feel, lightly viscous. Sweet citrus and pale stonefruit front, bitter and herbaceous backend with a lasting bitter, smoky finish. Lighter notes of milk chocolate, wood, rocket leaves, kaffir lime leaves and soft berry tones. This is delicious. Completely leftfield but it works. Well rounded, well balanced and full of flavour. Surprisingly delicious! (33cL, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

3.4
Sevenlee (1846) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - AUG 20, 2016
Pours a coppery brown with a beige head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasty, and some toffee. Taste is moderate sweet.

3.3
Dervock (1467) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 22, 2016
Bottle - pours deep red with a nice head. Aroma is sweet carmel with a big hit of oak. Taste us isk and bit medicinal up front then a lingering sweetnesd that slowly changes into a dry finish.

4.2
mkel07 (6434) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAY 19, 2016
Bottle from Beer Cartel 080516. The beer inside the bottle is as big and bold as the label on the outside the bottle. This beer is the epitome of what a scotch ale should be. It has a syrupy caramel aroma that lulls you into thinking that this is going to be a sweet dessert type beer. It looks almost whisky like in the glass with a burnt toffee colour and the first sip takes your breath away and you know that you are drinking a beer that you will need to sit on for a while. From the first drop to the last this is a very good beer.

Itsumishi (49) - AUSTRALIA - APR 24, 2016
Glass at the Junction in Newport (Melbourne). Pours a deep amber thin head that dissipates then settles a little around the edges. Nose is strong peat and some coffee malts. Taste is a boozy scotch right at the front then a bit of a the coffee malts come through but the booze lasts throughout. Palate is thick and luscious but a bit tingly and sharp. All round decent scotch ale.

Maris (1596) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - JAN 14, 2016
From a 550ml bottle on 14/1/2016. Pours a clear amber with a biggish dirty head. The nose is fruity and hoppy with some caramel in the mix. Take a sip and there’s light toffee and caramel malt, some smoke, sweet citrus and stone fruit, and some firm, slightly resiny hops. Full bodied with modest carbonation. The scotch/IPA hybrid works surprisingly well. Nicely balanced and very tasty.
