(Bottled) Muddy amber color with a large, quickly fading, bubbly and lacy head. Earthy aroma with smoke, burned malt and moldy toffee plus vegetable hints. Smoky, eathy malt with some oak barrel and sourness. A hint of Berliner weisse, too. Medium body with not much carbonation. Interesting, yet not excellent. (swing top bottle) Hazy, dark amber colour with a medium-sized beige foamy head. Dusty, light-sweet toast-malty aroma with light notes of caramel and cacao powder, also a faint touch of fruitiness. Light-sweet flavour, light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Toasty malt-accented taste with caramel/toffee and very subtle fruity notes; moderately dry, sweet and slightly bitter finish. Decent dark Kellerbier.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Hazy, amber coloured, smaller, quite firm off-white head, sticking to the glass, decent caramelly to dark-malty nose with a touch of yeast and the faintest tinge of smoke; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; gets a bit drier towards the bitter-malty finish; astonishing traces of smoked malt in the aftertaste. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, roasted, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, orange, rubber notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft.
