Bottle. Golden body with just the slightest amount of haziness to it and a thin and ephemeral head. Aromas of wheat and honey with little else. Flavor is similar but there is a little bit of an apple juice sweetness that mixes in to the party. iowaherkeye (2703) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - AUG 11, 2008
12oz bottle, Batch 8564--I believe this was a bonus from pantanap, thank you Kan! Hazy golden amber with plenty of chunks and a 1/2 finger creamy eggshell head, slowly fading. Hints of citrus and lighter banana atop a dusty cracker malt background. Tangy wheat and yeasty bread show up in the flavor (sorry for copying you, Colin) and finishes semi-dry with bitterness peaking around a 2. Moderate carbonation with a light smooth body. I thought this was a pretty decent for the style, however nothing earth-shattering. 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 31, 2008
Pours murky orange with a nice thick frothy white head. Creamy aroma of wheat, vanilla, and orange peel. Immediately this one draws parallels to oberon. Gritty chalky mouthful. Sweet wheat flavor with vanilla and orange peel. Very similar to Oberon, just not quite as good. msante79 (2225) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - AUG 27, 2008
12 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden orange with a nice white head. Aroma is wheat, lemon, orange and sweet malt. Flavor is wheat and citrusy with lemon and orange. A nice light and refreshing wheat beer with a touch of sweetness. Not really my thing but not bad for summer wheat beer. hombrepalo (1971) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 1, 2008
12 oz bottle. A bit dissapointed in this wheat ale. Kinda flat and flavorless. I went down smooth and easy but I expected more flavors. The citrus notes and the bread feel were good but it needed more. It was decent and really smootha and refreshing, good for a summer afternoon but just not my style.

On tap at Jerry’s. The third beer for the Illinois market by Bell’s, aka Kalamazoo Brewing. Opaque, milky brown with big, foamy tan head / Big nose of fresh bread and wheat / Medium body, a hint of sweetness, and with a smooth and creamy balance of malt and hops / Mild flavors of bread, caramel, malt, and wheat / An outstanding, and relatively bold, wheat beer. Said to be a copy of Oberon which my notes roughly support. User29624 (1683) - - MAY 17, 2008
On tap at the Handlebar on North Avenue in Chicago. Recently released I guess. Pours opaque gold with a nice head. Nice aroma of wheat, malt, and a little bit of hops. Medium body, and refreshing. The hops peak through in the aftertaste. I think the Oberon has a little better flavor though and fruit/spices to it. Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - AUG 29, 2008
Pours from the bottle a nice cloudy orange with a solid white head that leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is very faint of wheat and citrus. Flavor tastes like fresh squeeze orange juice with a bit of zest in there to bitter mixed with wheat and ends with a quite yeasty flavor. Pretty good beer and glad that Bell’s is back in IL finally. Pours a cloudy orangish brown. Small white froth on top. Aroma is very malty with some distinct wheat notes. Flavor has an extremely nutty start with some sweet malt notes that come through in the finish. Very dry and sweet with some vanilla and orange peel flavors that linger. Nice wheat beer but very dry. Good, not great. xnoxhatex (1305) - Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA - OCT 26, 2009
Bottle, batch 8581. Clear amber with creamy white head. Aroma is nice floral and citrus hops with off-dry wheat, some orange fruit. Flavor is medium sweet wheat, citrus, biscuit, honey, light floral hops. Medium, creamy body. Real good, hoppier than Oberon.
