Cotteridge Convention III – May 2017 - Can shared at the damp marquee tasting. Big thanks to Sarky for bringing this. As ’Kalnapilis 7.30’, 7.3%. Pale yellow, clear and still, foamy white head. Aroma is corny, sugar, biscuity. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is again corny, biscuity, syrup, spicy booze finish. Simplistic. Actually not that bad though. Another beer I tried at the 3rd Cotteridge Tasting on 20th May 2017. Cheers Martin (SarkyNorthener) for this offering. Clean and clear light golden body, white crown. Malty nose and taste, just enough hop presence and bitterness to almost balance out the sweetness: actually my sweet tooth thought this a lot better than a lot of the strong lagers I have sampled over the years. Can at CWC III; clear yellow pour with a tho white head, aroma has hints of malt, taste has adjunct laden sweetness, quite big alcohol. Garrold (5839) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 23, 2017
Can. A gift from SarkyNorthener, who, unlike me, is not a twat. Straw colour. Lots of rising bubbles. Firm, lasting, white head. Solid looker. Nose has sweet, syrupy grain. Some green, leafy hop. Taste is fairly sweet, with some grassy, leafy bitterness. Clean enough mouthfeel for the style and ABV. More sweetness to finish. Barring being a little sweet, this was pretty good.
