fantastic hefeweizen--a nice surprise in a random small store in Hawthorne, NJ...gentle cloveness, not so much banana in this one, more than a hint of citrusness and "hoegaardenicity", aka wheatness...reminds me of the Franziskaneren i was encouraged to try by Christoph the Bavarian TheBeerOrg (2145) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - APR 7, 2008
Pours lightly cloudy, bright golden with a mostly maintained wispy off-white head. Aroma of clove, banana, sweet yeasty esters. Taste is of lively esters: banana, pear, clove, and bubble gum. Medium bodied with lush, lively carbonation. Very nice hefe. unclemattie (4357) - Georgia, USA - FEB 12, 2009
330ml bottle. Pours a solid yeast filled golden cloudiness of wheat juice. Huge fluffy white head. Gigantic banana bubblegum aroma. So far, it’s a monster of a hefe! Sweet creamy texture. Light medium bodied, very well balanced. Light hint of bitterness. Some banana flavor, nice wheat. Very impressive. ChainGangGuy (4919) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - FEB 16, 2009
$2.49/4-pack at Bullock’s Wine & Spirits in Marietta, Georgia.
The bottle gives the current ABV at 4.90%.
Appearance: Pours a hazy, golden-yellow body with a tall (though collapsing), meringue-like, white head.
Smell: Sweetish, slightly tangy wheat aroma with notes of banana, citrus, spice, and chewing gum.
Taste: Sugary sweet, tangy malted wheat begins, soon followed by a zip of freshly-grated lemon zest, banana juice, a light pinch of clove, but a big hunk of bubble gum. Very mild spicy hop character and bitterness. Lingering touch of lemon on the drying finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high carbonation, but it retains a nice, creamy mouthfeel overall.
Drinkability: A very enjoyable, highly drinkable all-around hefe. Sure, it may be even better in summertime, but it’s still very pleasant when it’s 39°F outside. GG (2332) - NorCal, California, USA - AUG 23, 2009
Sweet Jesus. I found this beer at Big Lots for...well, $1 a bottle. I didn’t expect much, nor did I know how old this bottle was. But tomorrow I’m going back to load up because this was a fantastic hefe and I think the rest of this summer will do nicely drinking this beer.

The beer pours out a solid yellow body, cloudy with a rocky white head that had nice retentionn and really appealing lacing. Aroma is big banana, citrus, and yeast. Flavor has some buttered crackers, sweet french bread, light citrus, clove and banana. Quite a suprise.
bottled, aroma of wheat with heavy citrus, poured mildly cloudy yellow with nice big white head, taste matches aroma well with a lot of citrus with some mild wheat/malt combo, fairly full and carbonated mouth feel, could drink this all day during summer Oakes (18472) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 17, 2009
Hazy straw. Bright happy banana and malts on the nose with hints of nail polish phenol. Slightly spritzy. Wheaty body with light pear esters and a hint of banana. Clean, refreshing example. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JAN 2, 2010
Bottle:   Hazy straw, a little dirty, HUGE fluffy white head, light lacing, little to no carbonation.   This one smells delicious, loads of Banana and Cloves.   Its about two feet away from me and I can easily smell
it from here.   Lots of Banana on the tongue, some Clove, certainly wheaty.   Quite airy and spritzy, not as heavy as other examples.   A light and flavorful example for sure, but easily more bubbley than others.
Refreshing, and one that would really work well on a hot day.   *BURP*   I would prefer it a little less airy, but as is I still find it pretty damn tasty. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUN 20, 2008
Pours a hazy yellow, decent lasting head, nice enough. Aroma was soft clove, lemon, and faint banana. Flavor is wheat, a suprise appearance by bubblegum as clove fades into the background, some banana, and a lemony finish. Not bad, a fair amount going on here, subtle, with nothing over the top. Would prefer a bit more malt firmness. Erzengel (9334) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JAN 4, 2014
