rosenbergh (11753) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 12, 2011
Draught at Kaltenberg Sörház & Étterem, Budapest, Hungary.
Clear pale golden colour with small to average size white head. Honey sweetness, some spices and some grassy bitterness. Slightly stale malty flavour accompanied with grassy bitterness and mild home brew touch. Very soft carbonation. Grassy bitter aftertaste.

Koelschtrinker (21171) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 12, 2011
Frisch hopfig-würziger Antrunk. Im Mittelteil wässriger, gleichzeitig hopfiger. Prickelnd, viel CO2. Grasig-herb, natürlich. Hier wieder hopfiger werdend, was auch den herben Ton stärker erscheinen lässt. Etwas fruchtig, herbes Finish mit bitterem Ansatz. Test vom 12.8.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 10,10,10,11,-,10 - 10,15

mattphilips (801) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 2, 2011

Draught at the brewpub. Pale cloudy golden colour with decent head. Pale malty nose, fruity and flowery hops. Fruity flavour with creamy body and low bitterness. Tasty and elegant herbal hop profile. Smooth but not really crisp. In short, I just liked it.

gunnar (9390) - Sandnes, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2010
On tap at Kaltenberg Sörözö, Budapest. Pours clear light golden with a big creamy white head, which disappear totally after 2 minutes. Nice malty aroma, with some light grassy hops. Taste is light sweet with minimal bitterness towards the end. Low carbonation. Watery mouthfeel. Nothing special.

judasbeer (431) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 11, 2010
Appearance: Cloudy straw-yellow color with a diminsishing bubbly white foam.
Aroma: Musty nutshells with a big load of freshly mown hay.
Flavor: Nice mellow nutty-malty sweetness spiced with a very gentle grassy hops.
Mouthfeel/Palate: Soft and easy body with a mouthfilling, thick yeast quality
Overall: Fresh and fine lager.

luttonm (6634) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 25, 2010
Clear, crisp golden with foamy head. Upscale looking lager. Nose is pretty fresh and dry. Body is soapy lager and clean flavor. Grass, wheat and a touch sour. Finishes quite bitter with honey and green tea, and nicely dry. Probably the highlight here. This is tasty and a cut above this style around here.

MartinT (10037) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 8, 2009
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Crunchy hay and wooden hop dryness surround watery passages in this clean and balanced Helles.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the clear pale gold.
-The nose is very subtle. More aromatic hops would not hurt.
-The body is lean and prone to "suffering" big gulps.
-The malts are biscuity at times.
-The overall flavor profile is too shy to make this a compelling pint.
-This is by no means a bad brew, but compared to the blond lagers brewed a few hours away in Vienna or in the Czech Republic, it is rather ordinary.

On tap at the brewpub.

nate2g (1548) - Boomtown!, AUSTRALIA - DEC 26, 2008
Draught at Kaltenberg Sorozo, Budapest. Rough notes from July 08. Clear pale gold with a white head. Sweet grainy aroma, in a good way and good use of hops. Good malty flavour, medium bodied, finishes smooth with some bitterness.

TBone (17990) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 21, 2008
Pale clear yellow color, small steady creamy white head. Citrusy nose with hints of sweetness. Fizzy. Nicely citrusy, leafy hoppy brew. Light palate. Rounded sweetish bitterness in the aftertaste. Refreshing and good.
